It seems to me that the alpha & other 'gray' keys in the OP's photos have a much bluer hue than the Originative set or authentic Dolch caps. The latter two sets are yellower, at least judging by pics I can find online.

Is this likely a real difference, or just a white balance artifact from OP's camera? When group buys happen, how are the colors specified to the manufacturer? As I understand it, GMK made the original Dolch sets, so they should already have the right color on hand, if they source it from their archives. Is that how they work, or did OP likely specify himself?

I know this is picky, but the Originative/authentic caps seem a bit more contrasty to me and I like them more. Considering the price, I'd like to feel I got exactly what I wanted. 

Can anyone comment on this? OP?

Very interesting info! So do you know what the color codes were for Originative and for authentic Dolch caps, i.e., am I actually seeing a difference?

I believe it was the same as I told you up there since they dont have much grey variant (available as the picture show), Ivan's doing a full set of N9 GB, that is, acording to him, the same color with Dolch mods so yeah, it's CC&N9

Seriously, we could do a tkl gmk dolch set below 80 usd. And I feel bad for ivan, cheaper set, more keys, but still can't hit moq. :/

it is important to properly analyze the different options and prices, because Originative, Korean GB, and Ivan's GB are not the same. Originative is a business that also paid in advance for the cap sets, runs with the cost for keeping them in stock until sold, and its 87 kit is now at $95 and sold out, I do not know where the individual above got a price of $85 for 110 keys. It may be an old price that by all means is not comparable with available offers anymore.


GBs are suppose to serve the community with otherwise non available keyboard parts taking advantage of the community buying power. I do not think that making a profit by running a GB is legitimate, but it is hard to say if someone around GH is, or is not, profitting out of GBs. Any how, the good part is that we can always choose where we put our hard earned dollars.
