It's not so much purified as the mount of fresh air pumped in.
More fresh air means more power to heat/cool and therefore more money.

However unfresh that air is, it's dusty. Open the shades early morning with the lights off, and you can see how ridiculously hazy it is in the rooms. Every hotel from 2-5 stars.

The positive interpretation is, you saved all this cash for a new 5090. Loneliness = 5090, a worthwhile trade indeed.
