@ZSsloane:

Also, check my sig.

EDIT:

Yeah this seems like it is an issue on your end.
But it is also the first time I see Geekhack resizing images (img width=640 height=84), so it might have to do with that.

So what "feature" in a godaddy-hosted directory would "block" images being accessed through a bbcode tag like [img]?

GH counts my own posts as new posts. Has for a while. Wasn't really bugging me until right now.

Carries over to several platforms.

Not quite sure what you mean by this, can you clarify?

The resizing shouldn't be the issue.

If I make a post in the Keyboards subforum, then click on "Home" to look at another subforum, the keyboards subforum shows as having unread posts when there aren't any.

I am still getting security issues

NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

When I click on advanced, I get the message

Theis server could not prove that it is geekhack.org; its security certificate is not trusted by your device's operating system.  This may be caused by a misconfiguratio or an attacker intercepting your connection.

This is on my phone.  I do not get the issue on any of my desktops or laptops.

actual bug report though; when a watched topic gets moved (like from IC to GB) the watch gets removed. I imagine this is because you are essentially creating a new thread just with all the old replies in it?

Edit: OK the old IC thread is still open and yet the GB thread has all the old replies in it  :-\

please god where is the block button

ohhhhhhhhh

i thought there was an option to do it on someone's profile. Thank you though :) that has saved my sanity

Is anyone else experiencing this? A row of whitespace is auto added in the Quick Reply text box when writing posts. Deleting the whitespace while composing has no effect and seems to re-add itself.

Been noticing this for a few weeks off and on (not that frequently though as I normally use the full Reply page) but originally thought it was accidental keypresses.

I have no idea why the code has gone all mad on the KOTM winner's thread, I can't see what I've done at all. Would a mod be able to look at it for me and tell me why i'm stupid?

https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=87762.0

If you go into the code it looks as if it's written as it appears, but if you delete it and make it right, it just reverts back to being wrong again

I think I've fixed it.  You had an "img=" instead of "img]" for the part that was broken.  It was messing up everything afterwards.

Actually 'itlnstln' is out of place, I would say since his posts were older they were not affected by this recent blip, at least not to the degree ours were.

It seems all externally hosted images are being forced to 640px width, regardless of the BBCode used in the post (haven't tested attachments). This was introduced years ago but according to user 18 it was possible to adjust the BBCode dimensions to scale the image.

However it doesn't seem possible now as it's forced back to 640px wide (and 360px high for 16:9 ratio images).

You can't unwatch from threads if they're closed, it seems possible, I made a URL that worked for a few topics but not all. Had some invalid session errors, probably the GUID being incorrect at the end.

Code: [Select]
https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=unwatch;topic={topic_number};{session_guid}
Note: no "Watch" or "Unwatch" button.

I think the hit boxes on some things are slightly off to the right. I have to click off to the right of page numbers and check boxes (like when changing the options on a poll) to actually select them.

I think the hit boxes on some things are slightly off to the right. I have to click off to the right of page numbers and check boxes (like when changing the options on a poll) to actually select them.

Hmm.  Everything is looking okay in my current environment.  What browser are you using?

Looking good for me using Firefox, Chrome and Safari on macOS.

I also just discovered that in the list of page numbers, you can click the ellipsis displayed when there are too many pages and it will display all of the intervening page numbers too.

I tried to post a Google form for an IC, and the random url Google gave me happened to contain the word '****'. The filter decided to censor the url replacing part of it with stars so anyone clicking on it got a 404 error. I'm pretty sure the filter should only censor visible text, not links, so this is a bug.

For reference here's the link. Click on it with censorship turned off, it works. With censorship turned on (or when logged out in incognito mode) you get a 404.

Google has since given me a new url so it's not urgent for me.

I think I was using Chrome on Windows 10. It's fine now, don't know what that was all about.

Maybe you accidentally zoomed in/out slightly?  That can mess things up for no apparent reason.

The forum is borking some links.

In the GMK Yellow on Black IC thread there is a link to a Google form.

If you click the link, it takes you to a Rainbow Magicland page.

If you copy/paste the URL that is shown on the page i.e. the goo.gl link, it works.

I disassembled the link URL, which contains the thread and a few other bits and pieces (presumably for link tracking or counting), and they appear the same.

As above every google form link I can find goes to Rainbow Magicland.  If this is a 420 joke I'm not in on it :blank:

I was getting SSL errors in Safari and Chrome on iOS for about half an hour around 3pm Pacific time today. Not sure if it was just something on my end, but wanted to give y’all a heads up.

I was getting this all afternoon.  Now that I could finally get in, I cannot see my messages.  Anyone know what is going on??

There is a hardware fault with part of the server that this site is on (as far as I understand), and imav is working on a solution.  In the meantime, apologies for all the errors and downtime.

Geekhack experienced a hardware failure today.  We were able to get the site back up, but service may be spotty until the hardware is replaced.

I haven't noticed anything. However, that doesn't mean it's not the case. There were hardware issues a couple weeks ago, is it more recent than that that you're noticing this issue?
