The spacebar should be molded like how KBC does it. Usable for all, if SP decides to make a special spacebar anyway

question, so if i want to order the bianco std87 in red on white, but i want additional orders of the modifiers to be in white on red (see pic), would the following be correct?

BIANCO/STD87/RED/WHITE 1
BIANCO/MOD/WHITE/RED 1
BIANCO/CUR/WHITE/RED 1
BIANCO/FUN5/WHITE/RED 1
BIANCO/SHOUT/WHITE/RED 1
BIANCO/SPACE 1

But then what about the "print", "scroll lock" and "pause" keys? In the wiki it listed as FUN but FUN is also the entire function row.

Is STD + JRET + SHIFT125 (+Space) enough for a blank iso? What about an additional row 4 key? I'd rather not end up with a set with one key missing. :-P

i don't know if there xill be many people for it but ...

Does a Caps lock key with vim on it like the one of the GB3 fits the needs of some people here ?

i'll make an svg or a toshop of the vim key to show a sample.

I'm definitely interested.

Whilst we're on the subject of vi/vim, I'd also like an option to have ADM-3A style arrow symbols of the hjkl keys.

Ironically, I don't normally use those keys for moving the cursor in vim. But I still think it's a cool way to pay homage to a long gone but highly influential era in computing history. It would also make the keyboard look a bit less Windowsey, which can only be a good thing.

I think you misunderstand me. I use vim everyday at work!

What I meant is that most of us no longer interface with computers using text only terminals like the ADM-3A. However, the ADM-3A keyboard layout remains highly influential because so many programs in the UNIX world were designed with that layout in mind.

Yes, we can!

Got a message from SP: $2500 per mold!

For 50 space bars, a space bar would cost just $50 plus the usual production costs of about $3 to $4.

The Leopold space bar (6.2 units, keymounts 40mm apart) is now availabvle at no extra charge.

So I will add the Leopold space bar to the list:

SPACELEO

You have to order things like:

ROUND3/SPACELEO 1
RETRO/SPACELEO 1
etc.

The $2500 are only to have other space bars made like the one for the Noo Poo or the 6.25 and 7 units SA-family space bars.

Maybe something like:

RETRO/SPACE/WHITE/BLACK 1    (is this space bar code correct for a FILCO tenkeyless?)

Should I clear all my preorder and do It again but adding the space order?

Thanks

RETRO/ALP/WHITE/BLACK
RETRO/CUR/WHITE/BLACK
RETRO/DE/WHITE/BLACK
RETRO/FUN/BLUE/BLACK
RETRO/MOD/BLUE/BLACK
RETRO/NOP/BLUE/BLACK
RETRO/NUM/WHITE/BLACK
RETRO/PUN/WHITE/BLACK
RETRO/SPACE/BLACK

I noticed the wiki has been updated with available colors for the Retro set. I wanted a dark blue like similar to the Led's on a Filco mx brown keyboard. In the picture added to the Retro set there's a lightblue BFQ but no other blue variation so I wonder which type of blue I will get if I simply write RETRO/XX/BLUE/BLACK in my order. If it's the lightblue I would have to change my order if it's a darker blue I would be fine.

7bit:

I've done an interest check on a new keyboard-specific kit (custom keyboards from OTD, KBDMANIA, etc.) for the Bianco STD
and got 50 pre-orders so far.. you can check the link below.. (it's mostly in Korean, but I wrote the order numbers so u can probably figure it out)
http://www.otd.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=board1&wr_id=436539)

So here is what I propose as a "Custom-Maniac kit" (Order code is of course, up to you):

row 4 (1 unit)

new design on the way (3 keys, to support 86key winkeyless keyboards)

row 4 (1.5 units)

Alt (2 keys)
Control (2 keys)

row 4 (1.75 units)

Shift

Do you think this is plausible?
Thanks 7bit. The guys here(Korean keyboard community) are very appreciative of your work. Plus, they love the STD bianco design!

  • Crappy molding: Some (most) keys from R3 seem to be a bit tilted and are not perfectly parallel to the neighboring keys. OK, "perfect" may not be the ideal term, but when compared to any Cherry set (for instance), it sucks rotten donkey balls.

see above ...

I just realized you may not have completely understood what I meant with how those keys are tilted...
It was not yet another way to emphasize on the steepness of row 4, but merely on how some (most) keys are tilted to the left.
In simple terms, the top left of the keys is... more to the left than the bottom left.
OK, that may not have been simpler, but I guess explaining this clearly is beyond the limits of my english...

Or maybe that's what you were about when you talked about "crooked keys" ?
I'm not sure.

Quote from: 7bit;401169

Quote from: British;399811
  • Quality-testing: Can we dream about SP sending you (7bit, most likely) samples, in order to rule-out their crappy work ? That means checking on wrong accents, badly-sized characters, and other oddities they may produce out of thin air (since the references sent to them seemed quite ok) ?

I'm not sure if they have layout samples for what they will produce, but at least we will not wait for months until somone with a camera received his keys to see if they where OK. Next time, a quality check must be done before shipping starts.

I will also address the crooked key issue.

Most modifiers exist for row 3:
1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 (full touch), 2 units.
The 1.75 units stepped key and 2.25 units shift left and return are is only available in matte finish.

For Tipro keyboards, all keys are available:
1 unit and 1.5 units are available in all 4 rows, 2 units keys are availbale in row 2 to 4 and even the 4 units spacebar would fit the Tipro perfectly!

For the standard keyboard (Filco/Ducky etc.), if we go for semi-matte finish, all row 3, we would need tools for the following keys made:
2.25 units in semi-matte (available in matte)
2.75 units in semi-matte (2.5 units available in semi-matte)
6.25 units space bar

Cherry G80-3000:
1.75 stepped in semi-matte (available in matte)
7 units  space bar (for 101/102 key keyboards)

So only modifiers exist for row 3 ?
I suppose there won't be any possibility of having row 4 of standard keys (alphabetical) as row 3 as well, moreso for... let's say, french set ^^

I'm not sure where to specify I want row 3, though...
Considering I might be interested in a retro blue on white set, with french kit and all-symbol modifiers (then again, with every possible row 4 key being row 3) for Archiss/Leopold/Filco, how do I do that ?

RETRO/STD
RETRO/FR

And then... ?
How do I get a moogle kit with symbols ?
How do I specify row 3 ?
Do I need to add space bars ?

Any chance of having the round 3 Union Jack corrected (as in fully centered and not inverted) or even replaced ?
Maybe even (yes I like to dream) as row 3, along with all the 1.25 modifiers (there may be some interest from other people that just me).

Also, that ΅*<> key for french kits was neat, though flawed by that stupid 8-bar *.
Will it be available for round 4 (with correct number of bars: 5 or 6, and colors that fit at least the default ones) ?

On another note, I'm still puzzled at your retro layout sample...
It has (full) text for insert/home/delete/end/pageup/pagedown, instead of symbols, or at least abbreviated text (for insert/delete).
The keypad numbers are also missing the added symbols.
I'm worried about print screen/scroll lock/pause as well.

Hello,

I accidentally wrote down an incorrect e-mail for my order, so I sent another one with the fixed e-mail. Do I need to cancel my first order with wrong e-mail?

Hey guys,

please help out since I just don't exactly know how to place an order.
I would buy the following:
- SCWIN (full set of Starcraft 2 windows-keys)
- SCESC (full set of Starcraft 2 ESC-keys)

What exactly do I have to do?

It would be great if someone could explain it!

Greetings

Hey can anyone tell me what these mean under the Starcraft section?

SCWIN 4 Starcraft 1.25 units modifiers
SCESC 4 Starcraft 1 unit function keys

What is the "unit" key and why are they being sold 4 at a time?

EDIT: Sorry, reading the Wiki it seems like SCWIN and SCESC are just all the keys for each race.

Ok. Forget my last question. Just tell me the following : if I order a full set  (120 keys ) does this contain german letters like "φόδ.." or do i still have to get a german language Pack? Thx in advance.

Yup.  It's still in the early interest-gathering stage.
