On the stream you said the first version got too complicated, was this the case again? What about a version without fire?

That very idea is something I've been considering.  Who's to say a dagron need breath fire?

I have made a number of alterations/improvements to existing designs today.

A note to any previous lion keyng owners.  There will be no more :o  That's it, the original master has been changed and there are no more molds for the key.  So if you have em... you gots em.

The new Lion King reminds me of Mufasa while the old one looks somewhat like a wolf? I think the ears make that difference.

Oh you've added the eyes over the previous version? I actually thought the first one just was frowning, with the eyes deeper set like that.

The deep set eye thing really worked for the previous version, but this one has so much life!  The eyes bring out a lot more action.  That's a feeling I want to bring to my new sculpts. :)

It took me some time going back and forth between pics of the new and old Keyngs, since I really liked the deep-set eyes on the first version. The new version definitely looks more alive rather than being just a sculpture or art piece.

The old lion style will still be made. I just want people to know that it is slightly modified to make better molds.

The new one is still in R&D mode.

We're really happy to start producing these.  Our first molds using a new kind of silicone were completed last night.  This stuff is meant to be used in archival and constant production, so I am expecting a bit less wear to show with continuous use.

Binge? Would you be willing to make a Zork keycap? It's just a letter 'Z' comprised of mortar blocks, like so:

My price for custom orders is $150 and you get 5 caps made in single colors.

I'd be happy to do it in alps, MX, or topre.

Very Very Sky Blue

Ohhhh.  So just checking--are these turquoise or powder blue?  Sky blue in the US frequently means a cold light blue.  Sky blue in the Asian connotations seems to just be a name for turquoise.  (I.e. sky blue anodizing dye is just turquoise in English from major bye brands).

you made a great inquiry ;)  There will have to be more pictures, but it is a fun cross between the two.  The shimmer coating is turquoise and the key urethane is a light navy.  The light navy mixed with turquoise produces an effect where it shifts from the turquoise to something more true blue.  The only solution is more pictures!

They look pretty cool, are they dry in that pic? The eyes still look wet.

Might be neat to do white eyes on some of the darker colors. Black with yellow eyes?  ;)
