Do you have pics for a topre stem maker as well? Have you got an eta for this yet? Are you going to do a set of video tutorials for us less initiated?

loving it

Pre Production Vs. Production

Pre Production model had a dark anodized teflon coating.  For Production we opted for clear to show off the beautiful machining.  These cellphone shots do not do it justice.

Left -PreProd Right -Production

The 'resin reservoir' from PreProd was not kept in the final revision.  It simply does not work as well as it would in a flexible mold.

Stem inserts are far superior to the PreProd models and should provide better fitment results.

No dimple!

When comparing the two the Production model has much tighter tolerances.  There is far less wobble.

I will be doing two test casts tonight with the production model for testing using molds made with the pre-production synth.  Nothing about the preproduction synth should make a difference in how this works with my existing flexible molds as the dimensions of the key platform are exactly the same.

Looking forward to seeing the test casts!

If one doesn't use it, what happens? Your mold gets stuck on the synth?

The stem insert will not come out.  I'm going to have to melt the key off using heat/chemicals.

Oh wow, so that's something that can potentially damage your equipment in addition to ruining the mold

Silicone molds aren't such an issue.  That came off easily.

The problem is that metal is rigid, and if you form a strong enough bond these plastics are durable as hell.  They'll just become fused together via friction.

The amount of force I'd have to exert on the metal mold pieces to separate them would easily be enough to damage them both as well.

This seems like a very helpful hint to those just starting out. Maybe a short "dos and don'ts" guide should be sent with the synth?

If Instagram foreshadows anything, I'm assuming that he's doing that. Saw a little teaser of a video of some kind there.

Also, I wonder if I could use this to make just the tops for caps to fit onto a two piece BS cap kinda like how Clack's BMX or how some of HipsterPunk's BS caps worked.

A new opportunity for artisans and resin casting enthusiasts.  After months of collaboration between Techkeys.us and Binge from HungerWorkStudio, crucially assisted by Joey Quinn, and finally engineered by NudeCNC I would like to first showcase by photo the alpha and beta of :~$ynth.

We were going to have a release this week, but a complication occurred and we are seeking assistance from the manufacturer to reconcile the issue.  No ETC.

I'm confused, sorry... D=

My question was about the intended buy format.
Is it planned to be on Techkeys permanently or more like a gb format?

I don't want to talk for the other parties involved, but I could ask everyone what we intend to do with this after release.  I have some next steps I want to pursue, but this venture is not entirely my own except by design.

You may not hear a concrete answer until after we've managed a successful sale and had customers to criticise the project.  By our best efforts this is still new ground for a forum which is more suited toward manufacturing peripherals than plastic parts.
