Hi everyone! Adam still loves Emilia.
After deliberation with the designer of GMK Frost Witch, megaforce, we would like to let you all know that a rerun of Frost Witch is going to happen soon! The original GMK Frost Witch run was over 2 years ago, and since there seems to be a pretty significant demand we thought it a good time for this set to be rerun. There are some pretty drastic kitting changes from the first set, as well as usage of the updated hiragana legends. We invite you to participate in this buy, and hope you'll enjoy it.

We trimmed our Spacebar kit from GMK Frost Witch, and reintroduced it into Frost Witch 2's Base, as well as the accents. The new base is an amalgamation of all 3 kits with more underused keys being removed.

since you are going hard on spacebars, i'd add an alpha color 6u.
i personally wouldnt run that spacebar kitting in base.. but its unique for todays standards and your price is fine :thumb:

The last time we tried Latin, in a market that seems stronger than our current market, it failed. We are hesitant about trying it again, we see very little actual demand for it.
I understand this, as a lot of people buy this set as a weeb set and want the hiragana sublegends, but I feel that as Frost Witch R1 shipped out, a lot more people saw the colorway in real pictures instead of renders, and the set gained a lot of popularity, so hopefully this time around there can be more support for the latin kit.

Nobody uses 1800s with full 1u bottom row. Even if they did, you need a 6u spacebar for it which the set doesn't have. IMO double 1u Control is pretty useless. I think a 2nd 2.25u Shift for 660-esque layouts, a 2u Shift for 60s with arrows or a double zero would be useful to more people.
Seriously consider adding a 6u spacebar into the base kit since you're trying to make it all inclusive.

Kitting is some real "throw darts at a board" energy:
- the accent minibars, which include 1u
- the purse caps lock and the mailbox 1.5u backspace
- forcing alt gr
- no r3/r4 pg up/pgdn
- 1u backspace
- no 40s
- HHKB bottom row support
- no 660 support
I have no pretense that any of this will be changed in the two weeks between now and GB starts but figured I'd say it anyways.

Damn, I was hoping to get the accent spacebars since that's the only kit I don't have from round 1.
I just heard of this IC just recently and looks like I'm too late. I also would like accent spacebars, even if it's just 6.25U and 7U bars.
Before smarta$$es ask why, I like accent spacebars.

Didn't oblo say that he is not gonna run any gmk until they catch up? As far as I know that was the reason why Hineybeige moved to the end of the year.
Oblotzky never said he's completely stopping with proxying GMK GBs, he's just slowing down until GMK catches up and lead times are more reasonable.
Also Hineybeige GB date was never moved. The first and only announcement made by Hiney stated November because that's when Novelkeys, the lead vendor, was comfortable running it. Nothing to do with Oblotzky.

The only thing you can be confident about with a GMK estimate is that it will be wrong. They have been late on 100% of their sets in the last 2 years. They would need to ship 66 sets tomorrow in order to catch up. At their current average of ~5-6 sets per month, that's a one year delay.
If the current rate of production stays the same, a set finishing today will ship in mid 2025.
If the current rate of production increases by 50%, then a set finishing today will ship in mid 2024.
If the current rate of production increases by 100% (doubles), then a set finishing today will finish in late 2023, which is the current GMK estimate for sets running currently.

It's all speculation, so nobody is 'wrong'. But looking at recent R2 sets, the average delay is ~176 days. By comparison, for R1 sets, the average delay is ~197 days. So we're looking at saving ~3 weeks.
GMK has been posting about adding new machines for over a year. The number of sets that they've been shipping per month has not changed at all over that time (4-7 sets per month, consistently). If I had to guess, I would suspect that most of the new machines are being used to pump out in stock white on black and red samurai sets for Drop.
Again - this is all speculation. But it's speculation based on a consistent track record, as opposed to GMK's estimates which have an accuracy of 0%. Just don't get too hyped up by the "it doesn't need colour matching" line, because all that means is that it's not going to be a blowout like GMK Nord or Dracula, not that it's going to bypass the massively congested queue somehow. The queue is not being held up by colour matching.

I really have to say that if I had to choose between physical compatibility for more sets and adding accent spacebars, I'd rather choose to support more layouts than add extra flourishes for existing layouts.
At this time adding purely the accent spacebars could be a choice; however we are fairly reluctant to add more kits, especially considering that the climate towards GMK sets as a whole is colder.

Regarding accent bars:
I really have to say that if I had to choose between physical compatibility for more sets and adding accent spacebars, I'd rather choose to support more layouts than add extra flourishes for existing layouts.
At this time adding purely the accent spacebars could be a choice; however are fairly reluctant to add more kits, especially considering that the climate towards GMK sets as a whole is colder.

Please bring them back, even as some separate kit. There's clear support for them. It feels wrong to have it in the initial IC only to be taken away with no alternative.

also without nordeuk I won't buy (I've typed on blanks since 2008 so not that I need it, but ffs if there's going to be lettering on my board it should at least reflect reality), so -1 for 6u space as well :-P
Super understandable - I personally just can't swing it most times, with the amount of sales the nordeuk kits get.
I feel like this is a self-fulfilling prophecy when often GMK NorDeUK kits often cost more than 50% of the base kit (when other manus are much more reasonable in the pricing (10-30% of base)), also in sets like this will more than likely not have the sub-legends to match, so even if it was included you'd end up with missing characters all over the board which would destroy the look of the keyset.
So makes sense for just going with physical ISO support with sub-legends (apart from the potentially duplicated ろ).
Not for me, sadly, as when paying premium prices for a keyset I would rather make sure it ticks all the boxes without compromising on anything. But best of luck nonetheless, I know plenty of people who've been hoping for a R2!
