I just started collecting these a few months back. Originally I picked up a Captain Phasma because I liked the look of it ..... and thus the Pop bug bit me.

I actually didn't want to enter because I thought the caps were expensive, but I did anyway and selected only the BroBots in black and blue (my favorite colors), but then thought the purple ones looked a lot like Thanos so I put those in my basket as well.

Needless to say, I didn't win any.

I remember a long while back when a bunch of forum peoples bought Skeletor Pops. I thought they were cool, but just didn't have room on my desk. Now they are "vaulted" (retired) and worth a good bit of money. I kept my eye on Funko since, but I didn't have the cash to collect.

Then my buddy who didn't have an ebay account wanted me to get him tons of Deadpool stuff early this year. As a result, he gave me a few to thank me for scouring the net for deals and such. I have purchased a few since. Never thought I'd be into toy collecting.

I'm liking the Dorbz line better than the POPS! right now, btw. Colors more solid, heavier feeling, and a few bucks cheaper than their larger bobble-head counterparts.

I'll post some pics of our collective hauls when it isn't 5am and I actually feel like taking shots.

They're smaller and take up less display/desk space, the paint jobs are better and brighter, the double window makes them fine to display in-box, and they are found from $5-$9 usually. I'm totally on the Dorbz over Pops.

Best paint job you could imagine, no joke they are amazing paint app wise, as for retail usually around the £20-25 mark, so $30? thats not including shipping though and you can often find sales for them, and again being in the US as you are you don't need to pay a customs fee as well (jelly of that anyway) they come with a ton of other parts too, but I rarely do much once they get posed

So $30... that explains the solid paint jobs (from what I see from your pics) and accessories.

Pops often have some paint issues, but what can you expect for $10-12? From what I heard from long-time collectors, the paint HAS gotten better, though.

They are pretty good for the price, don't like the POP's Eyes though personally the ones you have are much nicer, pop vinyl eyes look off :X

civil war was really good. As for the number of CW pops, I just recently got in to collecting and this was the big pop release at the time

Let's be honest... they are ALL 2 yr old toys that nerds are collecting. Even the new Preacher line with cigs and bottles of alcohol are supposed to have 17+ age suggestion on box. Hahah.

I'm having fun. It is a cheap hobby if you aren't hunting for early chases, con exclusives, or prototypes.

yup, the target closest to me was somehow "sold out" out of them the minute the doors opened on the 6th (street date release). Brickseeker was showing me that it had 12 suicide pops instock but the employees refused to unload the box from the back ....

I found 2 Z.E.A. batmen at another local store, picked them both up (one for a buddy and one for me).

Gonna stop by some Walgreens. Black Suit Spidey reminds me of childhood. I really only go Dorbz lately, but I'd happily nab that Pop!

I do. Most collectors are in box collectors. Some just take them out to take pictures of them. There is a small amount that take them out of box and toss the box or store it.
