If I'm not mistaken, designers generally avoid 0.25 blockers as they're hard to manufacture (fragile/flimsy because only one side is connected to the rest of the frame). Nevertheless, I liked the direction menuhin took with with his design, so here's one with 0.5 blockers:
GMK makes convex 2u spacebars now so I think it makes perfect sense to use them as short spacebars/thumb keys instead of the usual 2.25u and 2.75u Shift keys. Meanwhile, the 1u key right in between matches the stagger of the rest of the board, prividing the entire layout a sense of harmony.
And here's something a little more standard:
A combination of Pwner and menuhin's ideas, this layout uses a rather standard bottom row (6.25u spacebar with 1.25u mods) for maximum compatibility, without giving up precious real estate at the top right corner.
Let me know what you guys think! I personally prefer the first one because of the split spacebar and sense of symmetry.
Bonus:
Of course, the left-hand numpad can be used as a 24-key (24 x 1u) macro pad as well.
