ePBT Chromatica is a keyset about five women who work at a keyboards design studio.

So I thought, why not make an artistic project specifically for this hobby?

We may be switching our manufacturer to TomatoCaps given the recent timelines with ePBT. After talking with some people with dyesub experience, we're gonna want to run samples before GB for a lot of our multicolor caps, which is part of the transition. This plan is tentative.
A small clarifying goal from me:
I aim to have physical samples of all of the products being created and sold with the Chromatica project before letting this thing go into a GB. It'll take time and quite a bit of money, but that's okay. With the new reverse dyesub capabilities of ePBT, and the newer creators I am working with, I want to make 100% sure that all main products and collaborative products will be of a quality good for selling. I aim to GB this project in early March of 2022, but that time is subject to change depending on my ability to get and photograph samples in a timely manner.
It is paramount to me that the creators I am working with on this project get a stable first step into working on commercial projects such as this one, and that the customer on the end is satisfied with the quality of what we have created.

The Chromatica Project is more or less a combination of my two main hobbies: creative writing and keyboards. Inspired by many slice-of-life series and my own experiences with the hobby, the Chromatica Project follows five women-- Karina, Eve, Amy, Ichie, and Calli-- and their ups and downs while working at Studio Chromatica, a fictional electronics design studio that focuses on keyboard work. Each character will have a fully written story for themselves as well as each participating in the planned Chromatica 4-panel comic series. The 4-Panel series will focus on the beginnings of the studio and day-to-day interactions of each of the members. Character stories will focus on each of the characters' origins and what led them towards joining Studio Chromatica.
This keyset is Studio Chromatica's first project, and surely, it won't be the last!

not that i want legends in the correct spots.
i think a decent sized, NON-uniform profile ortho set with some kind of non-sensical legends would be an interesting and a welcome change from blanks. (not that katana is non-sensical, ....but i can't read it)
- "dots" was too simple
- really liked the characters in "drifter"
- or maybe the C64 front legends as main legends... i don't know....
- or some other kind of characters, icons, or graphic to dress up what are typically blank ortho boards.
(i have one in my head that i haven't seen yet that i'm sure would sell but don't know enough about the limitations of the dyesub process to know if it would actually work or not)

This set is dope! I love the design and the characters, would love a light alpha or mod kit! It is full reverse dye sub, but so is my set so I dont have much of a problem with it. Great work! Me gusta :thumb:
I'm considering a light alpha kit with colored legends by row right now bc of reverse dyesub limitations. Dunno, will see.

Not my taste, but looks nice! Note that UK iso should be removed from NorDe since it's already in base, and at least a 1u spacebar added to spacebars kit, as the 3u spacebars are only useful when put in a 3-1-3 layout.

40 ortho kit looking good but if you have alternate alphas why not just have the mods be seperate? You have 4 sets of alphas - that seems liek a bunch.I'm considering it. I just want ortho/40 people to not have to buy the base kit for standard white alphas.

Ah, sorry for the late reply! I personally don’t mind how far in the corners the legends are, but some legends to me seem to be much closer to the edge than others. The h and b, for example, seem much closer to the left than the q and t which are more center aligned.
I think it would be good to have a more consistent space between the edge of the keycap and the legends, especially since the dyesub process won’t be 100% accurate with legend alignment. GLWIC!

Been considering this. For a few different reasons I won't be using a split mods-alphas kitting approaches, but I added a question to the IC to poll whether or not people would be interested in that. My main concern is that the Chromatica alphas feel like they'd be a bit polarizing to other people.
