Title: Ergodox in ps2 mode
Post by: torham on Sun, 22 December 2013, 20:18:26
I'm using a KVM with ps/2 for the keyboard, and I can't get my new ergodox to work with it.  I tried a simple usb to ps/2 adapter, without luck.

Is it possible to use a ergodox in ps/2 mode?  I'm hoping to avoid buying yet another KVM switch.

AFAIK you would need an entirely different firmware, or somehow modify the ergodox firmware to support the PS/2 protocol as well as usb.

To make ErgoDox support PS/2 would not only require a new firmware (that hasn't been written yet...), it would also require some hacking of the hardware .. if that is even possible.
The Teensy 2.0 controller board in the ErgoDox was not made to support anything but USB.
