Yes! I'm in! Can't wait to compare the alphas to my TA dyesubs, mix and match and... ooh this gonna be good!

I should maybe buy a keyboard for this set so I can actually use it...

Well I have keyboards that I can use it with, the thing is that I feel like this set should be used by a TKL board or larger to really pop. I also feel like it looks best on beige/silver keyboards.

Now the problem is that I have 2 silver 60% boards and I don't really want to buy another silver keyboard since I want variety.

Not to mention I still have to get a grey/black keyboard to match my GMK Dolch :-X

someone help me

I'm thinking about putting these on a board finished with a hydro-dipped wood grain pattern.

I'm just not sure what is the point of fostering negativity at this point. Did my best to make this a flexible set while not letting it get bloated - the #1 killer of s GBs, and my best is all I can do.

I know you did, and really, I'm not trying to foster negativity. I agree that this is not the point to discuss things like profiles. But I never knew about it before today, or I would have brought it up in the interest check.

Will the deadline be extended if it doesn't reach 500 in 11 days?

A little bit off topic, why the led panel on the example board is grey and beige instead of blue and beige?

Committed two btw :thumb:

Alright man, fair enough though it was in render and I believe also a bullet point in IC. I know it's easy to miss stuff sometimes though,  will try to make this kind of thing clearer in the future. Hope you are still on board.

Just ordered 3 complete sets because being a GMK fanboy means you gotta go in hard every time  :thumb: .

Thank you for using Massdrop finally someone who knows that this system has a real chance of getting 500 plus world-wide easily.  Word to the worn out and spent here on this forum, you can NEVER have enough GMK perfection hence buy it all up when it presents itself.

I know some folks have concerns about Massdrop messing up orders and such, but this one is basically being run by intelli78 and just facilitated by Massdrop. Even the keys themselves are coming pre-packed and pre-sorted, so there's really nothing to mess up.

Or is your reservation more ideological/philosophical?

So with all this bottom row profile talk, what does it mean for those of us who would use this set on a board with winkeys?

Depends if you are using a tsangan row or standard row. If you are using a 1.25 bottom row, it will look standard, if you are using winkeyless tsangan, it will look fine, but if you are using winkey tsangan it will look raised

Yes, these are all pre-sorted in plastic trays by GMK. Also, just from my personal conversations with Massdrop, I can tell you they are not keen to have any more keycap fulfillment issues.

https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2946/15301853109_1a0cc99c7a_h.jpg

See how the arrows and numpad are a little taller than the Ctrl/Alt keys? That's what this set will look like if you're using winkeys. Winkeyless, it'll all be the taller variant. As Hoff said it could be a little clumsy on a layout like winkey Lightsaver, but for a TKL or full size board it will be virtually unnoticeable.

Just ordered 3 complete sets because being a GMK fanboy means you gotta go in hard every time  :thumb: .

Ordered!  I'm in so much love with the color...  But... I don't have any keyboard to put it in...

Any thoughts on what's the best case color to go with it? I know the classic beige color goes well...

It's only $15 guys. Don't commit, just buy.

(Attachment Link)

To most people it probably makes more sense to them to commit if the MOQ is 500 anyways.

I don't know why they put the price tiers if it's 500 sets or nothing.

I was asleep when this went live so I was the lame position 103rd to join after a quick check of finances since I just bought a couple of artisans recently and an expensive keyboard, but as soon as I saw I had enough, boom.

I've been eyeing this and passed on the Hyperfuse GMK buy because I knew this was coming.

HYPE. I love blues. Until someone makes a doubleshot sky blue and metallic silver set this will be pretty much the ultimate.

You can always sell those artisans :P That what I did to fund my Miami Twice purchase. I only committed right now.

but dat massdrop doe
I have personally never had a negative MD experience, but I always seem to see people complain. Have you had a negative experience with them?

They hijacked his Gateron GB.
Completely forgot about that, which is justifiable
I mean, I've also been in two buys where the shipping time was absolutely horrendous, and the savings never seem to balance out the shipping time

Yeah, I could have spent like 50 more cents to get a chiton sleeve in 2 days, rather than waiting 2 weeks. But I have gotten the tex acrylic case and the poker 2 w/; clears from there last november, so I can't really complain, since they were exclusives.

I'm a bit disappointed about the extras in this buy compared to hyperfuse - I'd rather pay more and get extra keys but what the hell.
Down for 2 sets.

Well there are 3 custom colors also with this buy, so although the price is about the same as Hyperfuse (at its lowest tier) you're getting added value from that as well.

I'm surprised that nowhere on the page does it mention we need 500 for the set to be produced.

This is probably the fastest I've ever spent $120.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

So with this set the bottom row look and feel odd on a modern keyboard such as a Filco?

I may have to buy this set and a keyboard to match :d.  If I can find a way to justify spending the money.

Why is the profile different from every other GMK set made so far?
