I hereby present GMK Perestroika (Перестройка) to you.

The rich dark red colour is a standout feature of this set. Its Cyrillic alphas give the set a unique aesthetic and are a nod to its name, Perestroika, which points to connotations of reformation and openness. In the same way, I hope its users will be empowered to be more daring - to unleash new ways of thinking and working when using the set.


Kits



The blend of beautiful Cyrillic and English characters is unique and symbolises the two-way thinking that made room for a new way of life in Russia. Just maybe, the kit could inspire you to try a new way of working.
This kit is large and includes numpad support and ISO support, making it a great choice for a variety of layouts.




Not feeling the Cyrillics? Have no fear, you can convert the kit to be fully English (US/UK). Just like Gorbachev, the set strives to provide for the masses.
During the interest check, it was clear that it would be beneficial to create this, and so it’s ultimately the community’s kit.




For those among us who don’t fit the mould - this kit is for you. It covers the more unusual layouts, such as 40% and split.
After all, some of history’s greatest milestones were achieved by folks who did things a little differently.




For the people who want it even more modern than the base kit. The Modern Kit covers a 60% keyboard layout to achieve a smart uniform look without the use of English legends.

The colours speak from themselves - a rich Wine Red and Cream.
If you want to get creative about it; try imagining a bowl of steaming Borscht soup, vibrant red, with a dollop of sour cream on top. Mmm.

There's no GMK molds for that, so that would mean extra mold costs. As I'd like a big base kit, this would mean it'd become too expensive.

Send a PM to the designer letting them know what is incorrect so they can fix it to be a proper Russian set. Being proactive is much more constructive than bellyaching about it. Also I highly doubt any of the designers would say no to having an actual Russian citizen help them make the set as it should be for proper Russian.

That's really not feasible. New GMK legend molds are around €150 each, and there are 34 different text molds in this set. That's around €5000 in legend mold costs alone. GMK might offer to cover half of that, but it's still a lot of money.

Yeah, I think this set calls for icon mods and nav cluster.
Having the english PGUP/PGDN looks a bit odd considering the legends.

I almost always abstain from mod design preferences. Really like what was done with 9009 recently in terms of changes but those vs text don't really matter that much to me like they do for others. That said, agree with MajorKoos here.

I learned from the Interest form that not many people were a fan of the Mono tab in the base and unusual kit. Therefore I decided to move the Mono tab to the Modern kit and put a normal tab in the base and unusual kit.
Other than that I got a lot of positive feedback about the kits as they are, so no other changes (for now) :-)

I'd like to echo some of the other comments, seems like an odd choice to have full Cyrillic alphas with english mods on the bottom row. I understand that this could be avoided by purchasing the modern kit as well. However, it would be nice to just need the base kit and save some cost.

If not, why not? (everything I've seen so far about the Russian national layout points to the movable key always having / and \ , while Ë, whenever present, is always in the top-left corner key)

Good to hear about the usual latin set 

Are you planning on adding any accents or novelty sets? Would give some nice options to spice it up a bit in terms of colors.
The yellow color from my attachments (ussr flag included) could work very well with the Perestroika theme and could give the set a nice touch.
If you ask me, it would work well as color for the legends, but that's another topic.

I've played around with offering a full alpha kit in order to get compatibility for two boards, but because I don't have accent keys it would mean I'd had to duplicate too many keys resulting in the kit becoming way too big.
