I've got some social anxiety issues with meeting new people.
I used to be really shy. So shy that when I was in third grade, I'd actually hide under the bed when new people came over to visit!
Inside, I'm still shy, but here's what I use to overcome it.
First, I remember that I'm among friends I've just not met--everyone here loves the same thing I do.
Second, I remember that I get along with everyone online and enjoy the conversations, and that the conversations are only better in real life.
Third, I remember that if I want in on all this social goodness, I have to just have to get involved in a conversation that's already going on.
I've actually become pretty unbelievably social since my days of hiding under my bed. And I find meeting forum people in real life is killer fun.
I hope some of this helps to encourage you to get out and meet people. I'm sure if we met, I'd have a lot of fun talking keyboards with you.
I had no idea that we have a keyboard shop so close by. The next time I'm in Nashville, I'm going to have to come by and check out the store.
