[IC] Alps Plates for Duck Viper and Eagle
« on: Tue, 09 September 2014, 15:33:48 »
Would you be interested in a stainless steel plate for your Duck Viper or Eagle 60% keyboard, with holes for Alps switches?

Note your interest in this thread, and which of the four options you prefer.

1. Viper Split Backspace
2. Viper 2u Backspace
3. Eagle Split Backspace
4. Eagle 2u Backspace

Plates would be produced at the same metal shop in Arkansas that made the GH60 stainless steel plates for the group buy. ApocalypseMaow would handle logistics for us.

I just wanted to say I love the idea! Though, I think Ill hunt for a Duck Mini when I want to build an Alps so I can use a Poker II style case.

But awesome IC.  :thumb:

Cheers,

Since it's likely to be a small run of each design, I'd estimate about $35 plus shipping each.

Is there an option for a 1.75x right shift w/ fn key next to it?

I was thinking about getting an alps plate, but I have no idea where to get key caps for them

I'd buy a viper split backspace.

That's exactly the issue with the 1.75x right shift w/ fn, you wouldn't be able to find caps.

I think caps for any of the current variations could be sourced from a Dell AT101. Versions with the old logo have PBT caps I think. You could also use a Silicon Graphics Granite or AEKII, which have dyesub PBT caps.

I did a bit of digging, looks like 1.75x shifts do exist
