I'm enjoying the bit I've played, but hesitant to spend a lot of time in a beta.

There won't be another wipe so everything you do now will continue into the full game, also this game could be in beta for years or even perpetually as there may be no "full release" per say. A good amount of mmo's have been running for years and are still in beta.

I say play the hell out of it.

Played Hotline Miami  over the weekend. . .  very mixed feelings. The game itself is simple but fairly fun. I almost think of it more of a puzzle game than a action game, although it has elements of both. The controls were very unlikable. Very stiff and weird. Compare it to even simple flash games and I had more trouble pinpointing where I wanted to go on screen in H.M.

The coolest stuff was not even the actual playing of the game, it was the menus, the ambience, and, yes, the music (which probably brings back memories if you went to raves in the 80s) I loved the story once it got going. In fact, I think that's why I kept playing. I actually preferred the story to the game. Sort of like a surrealist "The Professional" with more violence. Game itself? Take it or leave it. I've played browser games with more substance.

I agree with what you say about Hotline Miami for the most part. They really could have spent some more time to make the controls much better. I am not sure, but I also think some of that poor control was intentional, like bad 80's game. Though, you should check out some of that 'dev previous games like Clean Asia... you might not think HM is so bad anymore lol.

Started playing GW2 again since the people I played with also started playing. I'm always looking for more people to play with, so if anyone playing in EU wants to join in just PM me, guesting is in now so doesn't matter which EU server you play on, but we play on Underworld in case anyone's interested.

I feel the same way about CS right now. I just got Master Guardian II, and they all know how to play what and when to rotate and all that stuff. I only got to this rank because I know how to aim well. :-[

I just can't get into competitive online first person shooters knowing that a lot of the players cheat. I love LoL, because even if somebody did make hacks for it, it would be very easy to see that they are cheating.

In my two years of play League, I have only seen 1 person who modified the game and cheated.  I don't know if I just never see it or if Riot is on the ball when it comes to keeping that crap out of the game but I'm glad to report cheating is not a big factor in the game.

On a side note, has anyone been having problems with Torchlight 2 and connectivity issues while playing with 3 or more people?  This started for me right as soon as we started Act II and basically if there are 3 or more of us playing at a time the game freezes in loading screens, when one of us loads in it boots another person out and other fun occurrences that basically make the game unplayable.  I submitted a ticket and after days of trouble shooting and emails back and forth Runic said it is probably a known dsync issue within the game that they are aware of and are working on fixing.  My question is has anyone had this issue and found away around it or am I at the mercy of how fast Runic gets this issue resolved?

I've played with some people who are cheating on CS:S and GO. Honestly unless you're a tryhard who needs to win every match, It's all in fun.

Even if you are a tryhard, then consider it training!

Most people play games for the instant gratification provided by "Winning"... That's the current most successful design focus, namely quick respawn and short term medal award system.

Whatever joy outside of that which "you-personally" have derived from gaming is not common with typical gamers..

I don't think I've played somebody that was cheating yet, but I didn't know that it ran rampant like that. I can't bring myself to play LoL or Dota because I suck at games like that, and the people seem even worse when they realize you don't know where to go. I just went with CS because I'm decent at FPS's, and they all sound like CoD trolls.

I really hate playing with the tryhards, especially at my rank because they're always yelling at me like I know how to play, then yell at me more when they find out my rank. Like, chill out bro, I've been playing S&D on CoD for the past 5 years. I still have plenty of run and gun still left in me, since I'm used to being able to run into a room and killing a majority of a camping team. It sadly doesn't work that way in CS. :-[

The best is when somebody is blatantly hacking. Saw somebody who had speed & aimbot, would be in the enemy spawn within seconds of round start and kill half of to our whole team before dying/winning/running away.

I miss the days of micspam though. Some of my fondest memories were making people either laugh or rage out over the fact I was playing "Banana Phone" while running around CS_ASSAULT with a mac10

I got really into it and played it religiously after school from when HL2 came out and for about 2yrs following on dial-up becasue my area hadn't gotten broadband at that time..

was so good... though I never got into private matches and just spent my time mocking 'clans'... never understood (to this day) the point of cheating, just seemed like a waste of time... closest I got to that was me and a friend ran our own CS:S server thatwould have all kinds of random **** going on.. that was pretty fun..

You'd need to get a list of LoL players on GH and see who plays on what server, then go from there. I don't play much, but if 4 more people here play on EUW then I'd be down, I can still play fairly decent.

There really aren't a lot of cheaters, at least not in my experience. Then again I'm fairly picky about the servers I play on, so that helps with avoiding cheaters. There is quite a skill gap, so I don't think your opponents are cheating, it does require a fair amount of practice to get decent, at least compared to other shooters like the CoD series.

Maybe that's why I've never had issues with "cheaters"

There are some players that are just obscenely good. If I came in from playing CoD where things like movement, footsteps, radar, location, etc etc etc didn't matter, I might think somebody is hacking too when they pop out from behind long hall in Office and kill me in a 1 shot with the AK. If you break it down, the first shot on the AK is exceedingly accurate if you know how to aim it, and even the second follow up shot is not bad. Were you running? He probably heard your footsteps, or if you just killed one of his buddies, he knows exactly where you're going from the radar. He's played the map hundreds or thousands of times, and learned the habits and behaviors of each team.

It's not hard to think it could happen.

You would never know, Internetlad. One of the most commonly known hacks which is practically universal to all first person shooter is "chams" or wall hacks (ability to see through the walls, and therefore predict where they will be when visible, and able to be shot. This is a highly unfair advantage, for obvious reasons.)

Add me on League of Legends my fellow geeks! I play slow and conservative, and I play to win. Hit Me UP.

I got Antichamber this weekend. That is not a game to play while drinking.

Saw the promo vid on steam. looks. . . different. worth 15 bucks for a trip? not for me.

You would never know, Internetlad. One of the most commonly known hacks which is practically universal to all first person shooter is "chams" or wall hacks (ability to see through the walls, and therefore predict where they will be when visible, and able to be shot. This is a highly unfair advantage, for obvious reasons.)

Often by speccing the character, you can see them "lead" their shots through the wall instead of hugging the inside corner of the wall/doorway like a normal player would. Worse still is when they blatantly look or stare at enemies through a wall. Often somebody will be able to diagnose if somebody is walling from how they behave rather than how many kills they have.

at the end of the day, though, it's just a game. I suppose it's not for everybody whether the reason be fear of hacking or simply not enjoying the experience.

That I can tell the difference between now. I just had my first experience with a cheater on the opposing team. Some people are actually really respectable when it comes to a cheater on their team, and actually try to kick them. I can understand hacking on a casual game, but in competitive that is just wrong...
