Can you add support for split space bad? (something like "2. 75 1. 25 2. 75)?This is using the winkeyless.kr PCB, which doesn't support that.
How much will the shipping be?
Few quick questions ;D
The PCB in this Groupbuy is this one, right?
http://winkeyless.kr/product/b-mini-x2-pcb/
The Controller Parts, Diodes and Resistors are part of the shipment?
Or are already solderd to the PCB?
Kind regards
Can you add support for split space bad? (something like "2. 75 1. 25 2. 75)?
Do we have a choice between North or South LED positions?
Would we have to solder diodes ourselves or can we order them presoldered?
do u have any prototype of this keyboard?
do u have any prototype of this keyboard?
No. But everything fits due to the simplicity of it. It would cost $270ish per kit if I ordered 1.

Ohh , so do u have any mockup's pictures ? i want to see it before decide to join :)
Here is an example photo of what an assembled ANSI 1.50 Winkey kit looks like: (credit to jdcarpe)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/EOBffxX.jpg)
another question: How can I program this board? (or is an teensy/something similar pre-soldered onto the pcb?
Can you please check shipping costs to Germany? (It says ~55€ to me, is this wrong?)
I really cant say, most likely I entered some wrong informations
can you please update the thread how many kits are sold? I think I would join (most likely) for the 135$ option.
How much is an backplate/top plate? And is money saving if soldering diodes myself possible?
so 50$ per plate (I assume?)
=100$ together
http://i.imgur.com/EOBffxX.jpg
will the final board look like this?
(are the spaces in this pic are acrylic/translucent?
You really should have a prototype made, just to make sure that the top plate fits. It would be a waste of alot of people's money if these were cut and it turned out that something was a fraction of a millimeter off...
Is it possible to pay through SEPA?
Already waiting on 3 boards from other buys; but you're making the greatest layout and running from the greatest country. I'm in!
What would be able to go wrong? Many people have used the exact same service and process to do what I'm doing and it's worked out fine. I've spoke to a few people that generated the files through swillkb and then used BBS and it's gone flawlessly. That's kind of vague. Perhaps pics of these completed projects?
The whole reason this came about is due to a one off being very expensive - a few people said they'd be interested in doing a tiny group buy around it so I'm offering it to everybody.
I'll be running more skeleton group buys if this goes well, so feel free to join those. If you're skeptical now, then I will refund your money if it goes wrong for you.
Just want to point out something, I remembered something was odd about winkeyless pcb when I built mine so I took a look at the case drawing on his site.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/zDoJlOi.jpg)
As you can see the backspace and left shift have reversed orientation for stabilizers, right now your schematic has all the stabilizers facing south. You might run into clearance issue with that.
Also just a minor point but stepped cap support would be nice.

The stabilizers are pcb mount, so the wires should be under the plate. The stabilizer holes he's chosen will not have any sort of issues.

The holes are OK, but their orientations are not compatible with the chosen pcb. Glancing the pcb I see that the ANSI enter and spacebar are OK, all other stabilizer notches should be rotated 180 degrees around the stabilized switch.
Ahhh, I see what you mean. Looks like he's checking in with Hojin to confirm anyways.

Updated with 'renders' of the updated top plate (& bottom for good measure). For all that were concerned, please check the stabilizer positions and correct us if we have made a mistake. A prototype will be ordered promptly tomorrow.
Damn, xondat, this is fantastic!
This would be perfect for a friend of mine; it's just a matter of whether he can get the money together in time or not.
Cheers for such a great GB, regardless. :)

A bit of a late reply from me. The updated plate design looks to be compatible with the pcb. My only complaint would be that the ISO enter area is a bit lazily drawn and the switch is not supported by the plate from the right side. Take a look at Gon tkl plate design for the 'optimal' shape, just add the switch top removal notches.

Do you have an estimated ship date?
did you made the changes for ISO? (I want to use ISO, so its important for me ^-^)
I am very interested in this group buy and have a few questions.
What kind of cable is needed for this keyboard?
I can see some kind of plug, so I am assuming USB mini b to USB A. winkeyless.kr merely says "USB/PS2 Combo"
Does the plate allow solderless switch opening?
I think I can see the what appear to be the notches for it in the plate, am I right?
Does your stabilizer set for 6.25 support the standard ISO layout?
Also, would it be okay to you if I withdrew my money if I didn't receive the kit within 150 days after payment?
sprit still owes me a 75% kit worth more than 300 bucks which I will probably never receive and I can't retreive my money. I am glad paypal at least extended the time span to 180 days... I just have become extremely cautious since sprit...
Another question: Can you try to include the hany switch-opening tools? (i. have problems getting one)

Ok, I ordered a kit, thanks for the group buy, xondat!
I selected no assembly service but presoldered diodes, that should do, right?
This GB is getting harder and harder to resist joining into. Just a question, the SMD RGB leds already come with it soldered right?

No SMD RGB installed or included. I can add them to your order however.
The board that got me to join GH! Can't wait to replace my magiforce 68.
Do you also offer to solder in the RGB LED parts (they are around 11$)
Where do you get Zealio switches? Isn't it sold out in his website?
Stabilizers and SMD LEDs are fine to order from Hojin. SMD LEDs will be $11.Is the soldering included in that $11 he quoted? I believe its $19 for the leds and the soldering from his site.

yea, but 11$ for rgb parts. If soldering is an upcharge- idk
typos due to my touch screen are possible
Thanks a lot for answering! One last question that I forgot to ask was if it's possible to have a couple of holes in the bottom plate to have the option of screwing in feet? Not too sure on the specifics on how big it has to be though.
Thanks again for the quick answers. Will probably join in once I sell a few stuff for it. :thumb:Thanks a lot for answering! This is something you'd have to do yourself as it would require changing the whole plate for everyone.
I just filled out the form! I'm hoping shipping to the US is around $35
Before I pay would I be able to check if I got everything I need?
(gateron brown, with soldered diodes, stabilizers, SMD LEDs, not assembled)
This is a really cool GB. Thank you!
Is the actuation point on the Gateron Blacks higher than Cherry? I'm using an RC930 with Topre clones (my first mechanical since IBM back in high school) and after using Macbook chicklet for so long I keep mistyping due to extra keys registering. A longer throw would really help me I think.
Also, are the LEDs for each key or for the case lighting?
Sorry about the noob questions.
If I join its on Saturday evening (going to a keyboard meeting and want to try out 75% first)
typos due to my touch screen are possible

Is the SMD LEDs the RGB LEDs?It is since wkl pcbs supports the RGB SMD underlighting. I think only GoN uses the single color ones.
Hi, could there be an option to anodize the alu casing?
Signed up, looking forward to it :)

It would be experimental as I'm doing my own and a couple of extra plates. PM me and we can work something out and see if you're interested.
Did I get in? I was an hour late by accident. Also, Is there any way to review my response, I panic-filled it when I realised my mistake.
Closed already? It is not yet 2100???Timezone was GMT +1 I'm afraid, I almost fell to the same trap. Maybe if you ask xondat veerry nicely they'll let you in.
Can you give us more info in general about anodizing?
Minor update. Will be updating the spreadsheet tomorrow and making it public so that everyone can check their orders etc.

So I've tried changing the color of my name as I'm interested in Anodizing, but alas I can only comment on the document - not edit.I see you already updated the doc!
Also, is it too late in the game to add on the LEDs to my order?
Thanks!

Would I be able to install this into Yihojin's B.Mini case down the line if I want an acrylic case?
Minor update, Massdrop have shipped the Gateron switches. This is for the slightly cheaper option, providing you submitted the form before the 17th of April. These people are: liillliillliiii, B1G_B1RD, jo do, and FlakeTwist.
I currently have B1G_B1RD, uberweasel, feeder, SRTroN (Reddit), TheMissingPiece, TerryMathews, and maximm interested in anodizing. They haven't replied to my most recent email so we're waiting on that.

I haven't gotten an email. I've added an option here at GH to send me mail
Would the plate also be compatible? The dimensions look similar, but I'm not sure.Would I be able to install this into Yihojin's B.Mini case down the line if I want an acrylic case?
The PCB, yes.

This GB finally persuaded me to join GH.
Hi everyone!
This is shipped from the UK right?
Just making sure, so that i wont get charged for customs.
May I quickly check that that the switches will be orientated with the Cherry/Gateron logo at the top (the logo is not upside down)? I discovered yesterday that a keycap that I am planning to have on the keyboard does not fit on upside-down switches.

Logo is going to be the right way round otherwise it'll annoy me.
Am I the only one who wants a name plate (jdcarpe) like that attached to my board? Except obviously a different name.
thanks for the updates xondat, great to hear.
What happened with the switch openers from mechanicalkeyboards.com?
Are you offering some/going to order some? I would really like to get them, way more handy

Not trying to be rude, but why don't you just order it yourself? It's 7 bucks and has free shipping.
Well the shipping extra would still be added on through the group buy. Either way you are paying the same amountthanks for the updates xondat, great to hear.

I'd be surprised if their free shipping covered Germany, where he apparently is. That said, you can just make your own ghetto tools from binder clips pretty easily, and they can be had for much less than $7.
-clears throat-
CHEATER! Are the switches sitting in the plates well? Do we have an ETA on the pcb's? Will Goku ever start fighting instead of charging up his spirit bomb!?
so any chances of you doing a Skeleton Keypad next Xondat? Please!
Are there any extras?
really nice pics xondat!
btw: I assume the pcb does not allow 1.5-1-1.5 bottom row, or?
Im quite confused because in my eyes there are fitting holes for that :-\
Has someone info?
No update. PCBs are in production. I'm still alive. Everything seems well.Do you have an ETA on the pcbs so we can get an idea of how long this delay will be?

It may have been asked/stated already, but are the stabilisers going to be Cherry or Costar?
Is there a mailing list or signup for the next round. Need one, missed it. Will trade kidney.
Mhm I really liked this kit for NOT being another 60% kit.75% is the new 60%
Maybe a round 2 with anodizing or something, we'll see. If I do R2 75% then I don't want it to be exactly the same.

CNC Bottom? Just dreaming a little here :)
nice!
Is it going to be split?
Would be really awesome
My board hasn't even been made yet and I'm thinking of ways to mod it...Are there any ways to add some "flesh" to this kit? Would it be possible to use shorter spacers, and maybe an acrylic layer to fill out the gap?
Would it be possible for me to modify my order to have the diodes soldered? If so just send invoice to my paypal used previously. As well, can I update the shipping address? I'm moving.
Cheers!

The shortest spacer might be 8mm, 9 would be getting uncomfortable but 10 would be fine. It's possible to have the acrylic layer made - I'm going to be making the file this week before I go away.

Already designed a 75% CNC thing, although it's a fully custom keyboard so around the $400 mark depending on the amount of people.
$400 for an anodized skeleton kit? IDK anything about pricing but that SEEMS like a lot, like... octagon status haha

Originative Co had a pre-order for what they called Valentines PBT (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0267/1905/products/LayoutA_large.png?v=1463821854). And it has everything I need for this and more.
Sorry for lack of updates because of my trip. I came home to everything from Zeal and Hojin of Winkeyless. The only thing missing is Gateron switches from sherryton due to a translation issue with his supplier. Thanks for the edit, you scared me for a moment there.
I just have to buy a soldering iron and then get cracking. So first orders will start shipping once I find some decent boxes (which is more difficult than I bloody thought).
EDIT: I have soldered several boards before, I just need to buy a new soldering iron.

Just waiting on the switches from Originative and my new soldering station and then I'll be getting to work.
Ordering parts tomorrow, I cancelled the remaining invoices. Plates should take a few days to be made and to arrive so sneak shots will be coming soon.
Update 4 - 5/1/2016
Some complications have arisen when I was trying to get my PayPal limits increased. This means that my account will not be able to have the limit increased until approximately the 20th of May. It isn't all bad news, as I'm still able to go up to the limit. Following this news, a couple of things will happen:
1) I will reopen the group buy until I am able to increase the limit.
2) Anybody that is interested in anodizing both plates will be able to pay, you should message me able this.
3) The estimated shipping dates will change - looking at mid June now.
I wish there was more I could do, but I can't. I apologise for this.
If there are any problems, please let me know as soon as possible so we can work something out.
Update 5 - 5/20/2016
All invoices were sent by the end of the 19th, therefore all must be paid for by the 26th. If anyone has any issues, please get in touch. I'll be ordering parts as soon as everyone has paid or on the 27th, depending on which comes first.
I'm expecting them to ship next week.No update. PCBs are in production. I'm still alive. Everything seems well.Do you have an ETA on the pcbs so we can get an idea of how long this delay will be?
FYI I will be away for a week on the 28th for my 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend but the PCBs will still be delivered as others are at home. I'll be having a days rest after I get back and then cranking out 3/4 PCBs a day.

Parts were all ordered on 5/27 but we don't have an update saying you have them all almost 2 months later. Did you not order them all as you stated?I think I clearly posted I have all the parts apart from the switches due to an error out of my control.
Are they being shipped in the next few days or are there lies in your posts? Where did you mess up? When can we expect what we paid for or should we be reaching out to paypal for refunds?2 orders will go out in the next week as I'm waiting on boxes at the minute. I personally did not mess up, but this group buy was hurt when 15+ people dropped out. You can expect your orders shipped as soon as I've finished the soldering. If you reach out to PayPal for a refund then you have to understand that I stated that assembled orders will take longer, and that you agreed to that.
2 orders will go out in the next week as I'm waiting on boxes at the minute.
- Shipping was delayed due to a lot of underestimations on my part.
- I don't have a soldering iron yet, and 22 want it done for free - including you.
I personally did not mess up
At this point I'd be happy to go back on my word and charge people for soldering but I'm not going to do that, you'll just have to wait.
I count 3 mess ups on your part right there. So why lie again in a half assed response. You messed up by underestimating. You messed up by not having a soldering iron. You messed up by not ordering boxes.I've updated the spreadsheet to represent the order in which parts will be shipped in.

I'll admit I could've thought things through better but mistakes are and have been made. It's been 2 months since I took payment, things could be a lot worse.

Do you want it unassembled or assembled? Your order is at the bottom because your kit is waiting for switches, wants assembly and requires SMDs.

Got an update/schedule for this week?
So which switches are missing? In the first post you say that only the regular Gateron switches are missing, is this correct?

By participating in a group buy, you inherently agree to put forth the money for the creation of a custom, made-to-order product that is not easily available elsewhere.
The majority of the money is not with the group buy leader, and the GB leader, in most cases, is not a vendor who is obligated to kiss your feet and provide Amazon-like customer service by bending over and letting you go to town with your self-entitlement in tow. You're not buying something that's in stock, and delays are very common. Not understanding that and making a beeline for Paypal is equivalent to burning all bridges. Nobody would want to do any business w/ you when you have a track record of jumping the gun and crying to Paypal. You're trying to take the money out of the pocket of the GB leader who is trying to provide a community service, and actively communicating with you in a cordial manner to resolve the current situation.
And that's ****ed up.
No, it's ****ed up to get lied to. He mentioned he did not mess up and then mentioned how he messed up. He said he had everything when he didn't. Multiple people are confused as to what he actually has. He said he was waiting on switches, boxes, and a soldering iron but now mine is supposed to be shipped next week? Probably another lie. I gave my money to someone expecting honesty. I will gladly burn any bridge necessary to watch this lying sack of **** burn now
edit: This is kind of funny at this point. I actually own a custom order business that makes things out of plastics. If I was a month late I would be expected to return the money or be in small claims court. It wouldn't matter how much I or my vendors had messed up. I would definitely not be able to continue to have a business if I threatened a customer in any way like changing their order status because they wanted to know where I messed up and what the new expected delivery was. Most people want to know if their order is going to come this year.

My order is now in dispute with paypal because it was not shipped in June as was promised with the original order
By participating in a group buy, you inherently agree to put forth the money for the creation of a custom, made-to-order product that is not easily available elsewhere.
The majority of the money is not with the group buy leader, and the GB leader, in most cases, is not a vendor who is obligated to kiss your feet and provide Amazon-like customer service by bending over and letting you go to town with your self-entitlement in tow. edit: This is kind of funny at this point.

You started a ****ing claim without even contacting me personally ONCE. There was no effort from you at all to resolve your issue. I, unlike you, am NOT A VENDOR. THIS IS A GROUP BUY. I'm not sure how calling me a lying sack of **** is going to get you anywhere. Your order is going to be shipped unassembled because I offered this as courtesy for people being kind.
This is your first group buy, and I hope it's your last because I don't want you ****ing anyone else over.
You should do some research on GBs man. A 1 month delay is NOTHING comparatively.

I understand that it is painful for your expectations to not be met, but I feel your experience as a business owner is probably skewing your perspective a little here. xondat is not running a business that sells products (even custom ones) on a regular basis, and as such has no hard data to base shipping estimates on, only the estimations of the suppliers he worked with. I'm also assuming that he doesn't have the ability to see the future, but that's probably a safe bet.
If you take a look at past GBs ran here, you will find that most of them do have some degree of slip on shipping dates, because it isn't possible to make accurate estimations for irregular one-off productions like these.
Given that you were unhappy with the timeline and communication, you could have just contacted xondat directly and requested a refund. Your first reaction did not have to be the nuclear option of attacking him in a public forum and opening a PayPal dispute.
Got an update/schedule for this week?Schedule is to send out 1 board to someone that can't wait. Other PCBs will be soldered afterwards.
So which switches are missing? In the first post you say that only the regular Gateron switches are missing, is this correct?See the spreadsheet, the yellow gateron fields are missing. I've reached out to Sherry for an update.

That's literally all you've done, aside from the petitio principii that you've been throwing around.
Ordering parts tomorrow, I cancelled the remaining invoices. Plates should take a few days to be made and to arrive so sneak shots will be coming soon.
Parts were all ordered on 5/27 but we don't have an update saying you have them all almost 2 months later. Did you not order them all as you stated?
Ordering was delayed because of Paypal. Ship date changed to mid June. It is now mid July and we still don't have the parts let alone the keyboards actually shipped.I'm expecting them to ship next week.No update.
You stated after every delay so far that you would begin on them after your vacation. You state that you were leaving for a week on the 28th. That would have mean starting the keyboards would have started on ~6th of July. Let's assume you took an extra long vacation and stayed the next weekend until the 10th. This would mean starting Monday the 11th you would start doing 3/4 a day as you stated you would. As of yesterday you should have 24 boards done using your low number of 3 a day.
Sometime today you should have finished the 25th board and every one should be done.
Are they being shipped in the next few days or are there lies in your posts? Where did you mess up? When can we expect what we paid for or should we be reaching out to paypal for refunds?

Will it be clear or frosted? (I remember clear is better becaude frosted is easily done with sandpaper))Not sure at the moment. I'd like to offer both but I've only just finished the design and haven't begun looking at places to get them made.
For the sake of transparency (given that we've seen how some individuals can be... pedantic, about these things) , can you show us what the plates you have now vs what the plates are supposed to look like, assuming you had prototypes made?Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the plates have arrived and are in the OP now.
So the final plates will be red? If so please let it be a dark red...
So the final plates will be red? If so please let it be a dark red...Honestly I just want to anodise all 24 kits and include a acrylic layer like a GON keyboard.
What's happening with the 7u plates?I'll probably sell them cheap to recoup some lost money.
What's happening with the 7u plates?I'll probably sell them cheap to recoup some lost money.
You didn't mention anything wrong with 7u, so I'm just curious about what's happening with mine and Prius's order. Are they being sent soon or are we waiting for the other plates to be redone? All orders will be sent out with the correct/new plate.
Any pricing info so far for the ''bad' plates? No. Don't expect a price until I actually announce it.
Got an update before the weekend hits us?
I can solder fairly well. Since most of us will be doing this ourselves now, do you have a tutorial of some sort we can follow?I'll definitely make a guide - it's pretty straight forward when you get the hang of it, but the diodes are a pain as they don't have wires and they use pads instead.

All orders that simply require packing will be sent the first Saturday after I get the new plates. I don't have a car and the walk to the post office is 30 minutes one way so I have to wait for people to take me :rolleyes:I can solder fairly well. So you will be able to ship all orders that require no soldering as soon as the new plates come in and are confirmed to be correct? Which should be end of this week / beginning of next week?
Could you post a pic of your soldering job?My friend is currently using the board but as soon as I get it back I will :)) Wasn't using it because the HHKBT is so nice.

How much needs to be soldered?
Guessing the plates didn't arrive yet?Unfortunately not, I'll post the same minute I get them :thumb:
Got any update to close out the week?I had an email noting that they essentially screwed up the confirmation, I asked for a shipping date and they said the 16th. This means orders that just need packing will go out on the 20th and perhaps a couple of assembled orders along with those.
Also, new name! :thumb:
any news about the acrylic layer? Not sure how I'm going to go about it. With the current plates it's hard to incorporate it without paying more for new screws/pop nuts. I'll give it some more thought before I officially take orders for it.

What sort of price range should it be in?
Did you received my pm regarding assembly?Replied :))
I'll work on getting orders that just need packing out within the next week, and I'll be soldering people that have asked me to. If you haven't contacted me yet, please do so we can work something out. Thanks everyone for your extended patience and understanding.
So does this mean that since you said you can only go to the post office on Saturdays that you wont start shipping these until next week on the 27th? Any chance of getting some of these out tomorrow?

Uploaded the mid piece (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwWyhlWOrMEbUHZlaHhwTU5hRU0/view?usp=sharing) to Google Drive. Plates were picked up today, and they said 3-5 days for the new cuts but they'll try to beat it.
Thanks for the update, but pardon my ignorance, what are they re cutting? the standoff holes?Yeah, they couldn't use their drill press at the time or something like that. I don't really understand it too much, but the plates look better than the first lot so whatever.

why would you want to use costar stabs?

How is the soldering coming along?Orders can't be shipped without the new plates, so none have been shipped.
Have have been any orders that have shipped? Not 100% sure if the spreadsheet is up to date. Otherwise looks like we're just waiting on the new plates
If you wanna ship mine unsoldered, that's fine too.Going to send out a final email to everyone and get them to confirm their address/soldering stuff etc, but I've noted this down.
I think they fit. I'd have to buy some and test but I'm not about that so your milage may vary. Designed for cherry though.
Only the two? I didn't need any solder work either..
I'll be sending 3 UK orders out to people soon that can give me feedback on the box/packaging. PM me if you want to be 1 of them. Otherwise unassembled orders will be going out once I have the feedback.Only two people got back to me, and the 3rd box wasn't suitable either.

If anyone is interested in having the middle piece being cut from acrylic, PM me. I would like to gauge interest so i can work out costs. I think i can get the price around $20 per piece. I am thinking of using 1/2" Clear Cast Acrylic. I have some spare 1/4" acrylic which i am going to cut some test pieces this week and when i receive my keyboard i will make sure it all fits well.
So xondat shipped my board, and after Royal Mail held on to it for a few days because well...Royal Mail...I finally got it today. Packaging was great, everything looks to be intact. Here is a few quick pics I took while opening it up:Finally! You might want to remove the picture of your address :))

At minimum I had to take photos just to remember how much this has taken over my room in the past couple of days. Made some good progress today, I only really have to keep putting cases together with PCBs and packaging them.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/YDAYaCB.jpg)

Pretty tidy room (tower of boxes aside), is that the BitFenix Prodigy?Correct. Massively oversized M-ITX!
Acrylic Layer Update:Looks good. Your order is one of the first to go out next, so shouldn't be too long before you can test fit.

Cut the test piece this morning out of 3/16" acrylic and it looks pretty good. Once my board arrives i will make sure it lines up and then do another cut with 1/2" acrylic.
Price per piece will be about $15-$20 before shipping

bonus: If you want anything cut out of the inside piece let me know and i can quote laser time.
My lift to the PO has been ill this past week, so I've not been able to go. I'm hoping to get a lot out this week, providing their health has recovered. If not then I'll figure something out, but as someone that can't drive it makes things logistically difficult.
Just dropped off 7 at the post office. 15 minute walk home and then I'll put the tracking into the spreadsheet.
Edit: Spreadsheet is up to date.
Do you happen to know when you'll be making the next shipment?Nope. It's pretty hit and miss, but when I can I take as many as I can (each package takes a few minutes for the girl at the PO to process). For example, today I had half an hour.
Sending packages to Shados, Asbrodeus, and TheMissingPiece today. I am still awaiting confirmation from others, and have sent a follow up email. This (for now) concludes shipping for orders that just require packing. I'll be getting through the diodes and boards that need work doing soon.
Tracking has been added for Shados, Asbrodeus, and TheMissingPiece.
Quick request:
Could someone please measure the length & width of the PCB to the millimeter?
Thinking about modding the plates :)
Thanks in advance!
With soldered: do you need me to add more info?I guess not. I've got the layout so should be fine. I'm going to clip the stabs so tell me if you don't want that.
(I really need the soldering service)
Got my kit today, Box took a smack, but everything is good! Thanks xondat!
I'd like an update please, xondat :)Sent out an email to the remaining 5 that have yet to get back to me about their address hoping that they can confirm it.
I cut this piece out before i got the plate and it doesnt fit perfectly. The holes line up but the hardware supplied with the kit will not work unless i make them hex shape holes but this may require making the acrylic boundary wider than the plates so that there is acrylic visible on all 4 sides from a top view. This may actually add a bit more dimension to the case and especially if you plan to use led's will add a nice effect. I also test sanded it a little and turned out pretty good. There are a few burrs on it still which will require a little more elbow grease but i think i can reduce that by doing 2 passes on the laser cutter rather than in one pass. It's a little short on the sides so ill need to modify the boundary a little. For the opening of the connector I think it will look and function better if i taper the opening with a rounded edge or flat angle. If you have an opinion please let me know. Hoping to get to the shop this week to test another piece but may not get to it til next week. Just a few minor tweaks to get it right so should be able to start the order process in 2 weeks. Due to limited color selections of 1/2" acrylic at my local supplier i will only be doing clear unless anyone can recommend a good supplier.
I'd like an update please, xondat :)Regarding soldering, I haven't had much free time recently so it's hard to say anything and putting trust in that, sorry.
Just a quick update to let people still waiting that this will be wrapped up soon.I'm learning to drive starting on the 6th for several hours a day, having a break over the weekend, and my test will be on the 14th so I won't have much downtime and I'll be pretty exhausted. My friend has been soldering diodes for the people waiting on that, and he should be done by the end of the week. I'm sorry life got in the way and this keeps getting dragged on. I want to have a blank slate going into next year, if this means refunding (if you want), then that can happen.
- deagle, mechmind, priusproblems - Your orders should be sent by the 4th.
- rrsonic92, diiip, feeder, razman786 - Your orders should be sent by the 11th.
- phenix - Your order should be sent by the 18th.
- tome - I'll email you again and try and confirm all the details.
Maybe this becomes obvious once I assemble but I wanted to ask if I have to put the stabilizers first before soldering the corresponding switch bottoms.Yeah, stabilizers before any switches get soldered in otherwise you'll have to desolder.
I am having my problems connecting the switch tops to the switch bottoms through the thick plate. Not sure what you mean - can you PM me a video showing what's happening? I never had any problems on mine regarding switch opening.
Is there a trick besides filing down the plate or the clutches?

The bottom AND top of the switch are pressed into the plate. The plate does not sit between two halves of the switch.
