I just want to try a little bit of everything. :p It's totally fine if only Cherry can be used though.

I think they fit. I'd have to buy some and test but I'm not about that so your milage may vary. Designed for cherry though.

Uploaded the mid piece to Google Drive. Plates were picked up today, and they said 3-5 days for the new cuts but they'll try to beat it.
Thanks for the file! Does anyone know a good place to get this fabricated in the US?

Im looking into getting these cut at a local shop. I will probably do acrylic and wood prototypes to see what i like best. Ill update in the thread with any progress. I'm looking to start that process in the next few weeks.

How is the soldering coming along?

Have have been any orders that have shipped? Not 100% sure if the spreadsheet is up to date. Otherwise looks like we're just waiting on the new plates

Orders can't be shipped without the new plates, so none have been shipped.

Going to send out a final email to everyone and get them to confirm their address/soldering stuff etc, but I've noted this down.

Thanks for replying, so sorry that I missed this. I only have notifications set up for when someone quotes my post.

I would be happy to give you the money so that you can buy some Costar stabs to then test out in my assembled order - if they work then you can just leave them in, if not then put in the Cherry stabs as were originally planned. I am even happy for you to keep hold of whichever set of stabs are not used, however send them along with the order if you have no use for them.

^Providing that you are okay with that idea of course.^

I too would like to see soldering examples before making a decision - I am capable of soldering it myself (or at least I presume I am, I've soldered many things at work but never a keyboard), but I was kinda hoping of taking the easy route for my first custom board.

PM'd both with pictures, I'll also PM people that've asked for soldering to let them reassess... I'm too embarrassed to post them publicly :-[

I'll be sending 3 UK orders out to people soon that can give me feedback on the box/packaging. PM me if you want to be 1 of them. Otherwise unassembled orders will be going out once I have the feedback.

Everything is sorted apart from the diodes (which are a massive pain as they're tiny and I have to count 80 per order) so shipping should be pretty rapid next week. I want this GB wrapped up by the end of the month so I can focus on bigger things. Thanks for the support. :-*

2 orders going out today (uberweasel, ugbash). They'll be at the post office by 17:30 - both are Signed For 1st Class.

I've already chosen which box I'll use, so I've ordered them for delivery on Monday.

Only two people got back to me, and the 3rd box wasn't suitable either.

Orders should be going out pretty quickly next week.

he was only sending UK orders first for feedback on packaging so it only ended up being two UK pals. I was confused at first too since i didnt need any work done but then I remembered his previous post. we'll get this before i get my first legendary at least :)

If anyone is interested in having the middle piece being cut from acrylic, PM me. I would like to gauge interest so i can work out costs. I think i can get the price around $20 per piece. I am thinking of using 1/2" Clear Cast Acrylic. I have some spare 1/4" acrylic which i am going to cut some test pieces this week and when i receive my keyboard i will make sure it all fits well.

So xondat shipped my board, and after Royal Mail held on to it for a few days because well...Royal Mail...I finally got it today.  Packaging was great, everything looks to be intact. Here is a few quick pics I took while opening it up:

At minimum I had to take photos just to remember how much this has taken over my room in the past couple of days. Made some good progress today, I only really have to keep putting cases together with PCBs and packaging them.

My room from the corner.

Off my bed, more scale. Dirty mirror

The two towers of boxes.

From the top of the tower, PCBs and plates.

Over 800 Zealio switches.

The sorted stabilizers, SMDs, and diodes. Over 5000 pieces in that box. Bonus KitKats.

Acrylic Layer Update:

http://imgur.com/a/SjZ3H
Cut the test piece this morning out of 3/16" acrylic and it looks pretty good. Once my board arrives i will make sure it lines up and then do another cut with 1/2" acrylic.
Price per piece will be about $15-$20 before shipping

My lift to the PO has been ill this past week, so I've not been able to go. I'm hoping to get a lot out this week, providing their health has recovered. If not then I'll figure something out, but as someone that can't drive it makes things logistically difficult.

Nope. It's pretty hit and miss, but when I can I take as many as I can (each package takes a few minutes for the girl at the PO to process). For example, today I had half an hour.

Sending packages to Shados, Asbrodeus, and TheMissingPiece today. I am still awaiting confirmation from others, and have sent a follow up email. This (for now) concludes shipping for orders that just require packing. I'll be getting through the diodes and boards that need work doing soon.

Very happy to finally receive my board in the mail!  Thanks xondat!

The packaging was good, though the box was heavily dented and not rigid enough.

The plates are sturdy, well cut, and the edges are smooth.  That said, I'm pretty disappointed with the finish as both the top and bottom plate have deep scratches and look like someone took keys to them.
Given the bubble wrap, it's hard to believe the damage happened during transit, though it's hard to say for sure.

Overall, it's still in good shape and I'm excited to get it assembled.

EDIT: Got the diode and switch soldering done, and it's working great.  Thanks again!

Hey dude, it's 320mm wide, and 110mm tall. The mini-USB port sticks 4mm out of the top.

Plates can definitely use finishing, was originally thinking I might sand & polish, but considering a vinyl wrap now.

Sorry for the lack of posts - I'm still waiting for a few people to confirm their addresses on PayPal, so I'll send another email out in a couple days.

I'll be taking koriolis and pooogles orders to the PO later tonight. Should be soldering on the weekend with a friend so the 4 people that really want soldered things should have their orders fulfilled soon.

On a side note, your PayPal buyer protection is running out (if this is something major to you). I'm saying this because I can "refresh" it for you by sending you another invoice and then refunding the original payment. This may provide you some comfort, I am not saying this to imply I won't ship your order, just so that you know that is an option to keep you feeling protected
