(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Mazda's 2016 MX-5
That's a beautiful car! It's a shame it doesn't have cute pop-up lights like some of the older models though.

decided to paint my room this weekend

before:

had to cover all my stuff since i was debating painting my ceiling

my room has been primed for painting for almost 2 years.. i am lazy as hell

first coat done. still wasn't sure if i wanted to paint the ceiling tho.

i had a helper that was more into it more than i was.. and luckily he didn't get any paint on himself.

mess i had in the dining room since i didn't want to throw plastic over my opened computer.

and, done!
after:

ended up painting the ceiling, came out better than i expected

eh, sorry for the bad pictures. over/under exposed or just plain ol' ****ty. im still trying to get the hang of it.

decided to move my pc under the desk for more space

and, i need a new desk. coating is starting to come off after 4ish years with it.

My room is neon green, or more like green screen green, and I wish I painted it gray, but it's too much of a hassle for me

i've had candy red. i swear, it reminded me of starbursts.
neon green
a crappy grey/blue that i got from home depot.. never buying ****ty home depot paint again.

and now this. think my next project will be putting up grass cloth on the red wall, similar to the grey on the rest.. actually, something a bit lighter so you can tell the difference. i LOVE grass cloth, but it's so expensive.

Grasscloth on the wall will be cool looking. And it might have been just the texture you had. Eggshell paint from HD looks the best IMO.

yeah, it's my fav of all the wallpapers. i've yet to see an ugly one. some are a pain in the ass to put on since they're thick.

i haven't had that problem any time i've used dunn edwards/sherwin. it literally peeled off the wall. i went with velvet finish on the walls, for a minimal shine (so i can clean it in case it gets dirty) and then eggshell on the trim/doors since it isn't much.

I always liked the competizione/ lms looks more but either way I would hoon the crap out of an F40. Have you seen the video where Chris Harris had one?

Also the only turbo Ferrari that will ever be worth buying.

I fully agree... I just bought the Testarossa's little sister, the 348 (a black one). People hated the 348 when it came out because it didn't drive like the 328 but more like a 911 and because it wasn't powerful enough: but who cares about these details when buying a 25 years old car!?  Don't have it yet, should have it in less than two weeks. Here's a picture of a nice one (not mine).

91772-0

Pininfarina came up with that design in... 1989!  I much prefer its look than the 355 (but the 355 is more powerful and makes a F1 sound)

To me the design of the 348 is so perfect that I had to have one.  And they're kinda still affordable (which may not last).

Its cool and crazy but not sexy. The purple covers on the headlights always bothered me. The C12 will always be the Zonda for me. That being said Horacio Pagani is one of my favorite designers, his design process is weird in all the right ways.

I'm not sure if the RS is manual or auto but each of the 760 series is fully custom and built to the customers spec. There is also a blue carbon one that is pretty sick and the 760LM, but that one is a bit weird.

Yeah, but the Laferrari is arguably the most technologically advanced supercar in the world right now. Not only can it store saved energy for power boosts or to save fuel depending on your desiers, but it literally has a button that you can push that automatically adjusts it's settings per microsecond so that you can drive like Daniel Ricciardo. And the best thing about that button? It actually works better at higher speeds :P

What the **** is that thing between the camera lens and your keyboard? I think I saw one at my mom's house.

It's this crazy walkie talkie that connects across the country and world (for a fee), well as long as you're within the range of its base other wise it's a paper weight.

Sadly it doesn't text or browse the web.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

It's a tethered cellphone.

Does Apple make one? iWalkieTalkie?

All these amazing cars being posted and discussed and I'm debating between a 55 GMC or a 71 Nova, lol.

I've actually had this for a while. Found it at a job in a backroom. I asked around about it and they had no idea it was there and were quite happy to let me take it. Originally grabbed it for the switches, but it works perfectly fine and it came with all the original documentation along with some users personal notes with tips and tricks to using it. I use it for filling out paperwork like my 2015 state and fed tax information. It's fun to use.

Edit: These pictures kind of suck and I need to clean this thing.

Those sound like great cars, I would love those.   :thumb:

That's a pretty cool machine!  Interesting stems on those caps, too...

The 55 was my grandfathers and the Nova is an extra my dad has acquired for insanely cheap. Both need full frame off restoration.

This thing has two modes. Direct type works like using a typewriter, lands the keys as you hit them. Or I can use the screen as a word processor, and when I'm satisfied with what I've typed up, I hit the print button and it runs it out. Uses a wheelwriter to print and runs bidirectional. It's actually pretty quick for a system from.. The paperwork is revised 10/87.

It most certainly is very loud and fun.

Sometimes I look at the stuff and just think to myself, "forget it!" Then I'll see someone else's project online, or out in town being driven around and feel 100% motivated again.
I'm horrible with mustang years, that 66, 67? I like that style though.

It's a 64 1/2, but I'm not sure you'd be able to tell from this picture.  A lot of the identifying pieces are missing.   :))

I know that feeling though.  There's a Mustang car show in town here on Father's Day every year, and we've gone the last few years.  Really gets me motivated every time.  Now to stop spending all my money on keyboards so I can get it fixed up.....
