after lurking here and there, spent many times in making some artisan, now i have some desire that about to explode, and that is to make my own custom keyboard so here i go with my first attempt in making a custom TKL!
i called it, HardLineWorks - Nura
Nura named from a women i marry last march :cool: , now i proud to call myself a MAN!
after having and taste some custom keyboard, i have some design in mind and i want to share it with you guys

design is already fix at this time and i already submit an order for prototype,
this is the specs that i had in mind and i pour it into reality (dang!):
- layout is WKL only (ANSI)
- material is aluminum 6061 T6 - RU
- case is 5° angled
- plate option aluminum(red), brass(hand polished), copper(hand polished), PC(clear), FR4(white gold), POM(white), Half or Full
- case compatible with koala, jane v2, whale plate
- weight is sandblasted (about weight design i still need to test it, will it work or not)
- PCB H87C v1.8 Thin (will be provided by our one and only hiney), case is compatible with all H87 v1.8 PCB
- USB hole compatible with USB-C and Mini USB
- case anodizing color black, gray, silver
- double mounting, top and gummy-worm
- gummy using silicon A60 red brick color
to do list :
- prototyping on progress will update frequently, taking a picture, etc :cool:
- typing test
- pricing
- number of slots
- GB time
- production deadline
- merch
- box package
- anddddd??? hmmm i think thats it for now..

7/2/20 - adding brass plate
7/2/20 - ANSI layout only
7/14/20 - adding plate oprion, brass(hand polished), copper(hand polished), PC(clear), FR4(white-gold)
7/14/20 - plate get revision, our plate now will only compatible to jane v2, but our case still can use koala based plate.
7/14/20 - Alu, PC, FR4 plate prototyping on progress
7/14/20 - using A60 silicone with red brick color for gummy
7/18/20 - Adding plate option POM

I was thinking it was a mix of the Corsa's bezels, 456GT's weight, and a Mech27's sides. Oh and Koala/Whale/Jane V2 plate, obviously.
That said it looks like it comes together quite nicely, and I'm also a big fan of the 5 degree angle. Looking forward to a proto!

What's a gummyworm gasket? Is that like an o-ring that goes around the plate? Or are there strips of gasket material on the plate?

plate option i try ask manu first, and if its possible i can add fr4, brass and copper, i really want to add PC plate to option, but i can't make it for now.
Update: 7/2/20 - brass plate possible only if reach 20 moq

I’m totally in, it checks all the boxes for me but I’ll probably be disappointed with such a low number of boards available. It seems a good platform to do alps and mx builds, and experiment with plate materials etc, since the plate and pcb seem to be common in the community.

i still searching the manu for plates, cause every plate have a different way to cut, ex. PC use waterjet, almost all metal will use laser and CO2 laser, some material use CNC Router.
and because i'm buying the material and search the cutting services myself, so every plate(exc. alu) will have MOQ and have different price every MOQ. will update the price later. ;)

Brass for sure, well the brass weight design is really really really good, im actually had an orgasm myself(ROFL) seeing at it, but i still dont know if its possible to make or not, so i save it later for IRL pic :p

still dont have any discord server so i will update on GH frequently later on GB phase, maybe will make discord after nura v1 finished, and thanks man :thumb:
oh yeah forgot, hopefully by the end of this month the prototype will finished, bottom case already finished, and the other still on progress ;)

Looks like it’s really testing the tolerances for margins and screw holes. Seems a little too close to the edge for my taste, but I like how overall the design keeps things simple.

It appears I have already commented on this post a year ago, which makes sense why I don't remember it.
I like simple designed keyboards. The weights, side profile, back, bezels: these come together to form an exquisite shell.
