Strictly speaking, I didn't get it in the mail, but I did a trade whereby I got a NIB Cherry G80-1306 (One of these). Very nice keyboard... I always thought that this 'vintage black' phenomenon was dubious at best, but no, they are actually better than the current ones. _Very_ smooth and not very tiring to use at all.

I'll be getting a VT320 terminal screen soon to attach it to. :D

A vinyl sheet... not sure what color I've chosen. Probably orange. Because a GH theme would look cool on the ergodox.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Cherry MX Rubber O-Ring Switch Dampeners Red 40A-L - 0.2mm Reduction (125pcs)

I decided to not buy another keyboard until I can find exactly the one I want, But that doesn't mean I can't accessorize.

These o rings fit that category. ;D

dream keyboard:
More
  • TKL format ISO-ish layout
  • Big-ass J shaped enter key, putting the \| key  with a standard (non modifier) color on the row with the shift keys and the ?/ key..  in the same fashion as the ( )   {}  []   ,.  keys so it is symmetrical .
  • front and rear tilt adjust
  • detachable recessed USB micro (or B) connector with strain relief
  • USB expansion ports for phone charger / mouse.
  • multimedia keys with at least  vol +/- and mute .. i like the idea of a clickable roller bar for volume/mute
  • optionally.. also with front side transparent legends and front side LED otherwise doubleshot ABS or engraved PBT
  • preferred switch.. i love the cherry blues but without the bottom out thunk.

Weird thing, it got relisted and I rewatched it, but then he took it down because I guess it got sold the first time. False alarms. Disappoint :))

Yeah....that was me. I was wondering how many people here watched that auction. The seller was incredible!!! I didn't even realize I won it until it was over. I'm not to fond of the variable weighted Topre boards though so I'm hoping someone out there is will to trade for a 55 gram. But that's for another thread.

Man, those R4 and Spherical look so awesome. I personally like thick caps but those make me want to get them just so I can have my keyboard look good. I also wonder how they feel compared to regular thin SP.
