Massdrop QFR and some clear switches :D

Just be warned if this is your first time soldering to a PCB, the QFR one is really thin and burns easily.

I'm not saying don't do it, I'm saying be careful you don't burn your board.

Yeah seriously QFRs man >_>

Eh, I did more damage to my filco than my qfr, not sure why everyone freaks out about the qfr. It was the first board I ever worked on and the most I did was accidentally scratch the coating off of a trace slightly because of my solder sucker.

QFR is also a single sided PCB and Filcos are double

I know that, but I still dont see what was so hard working on the qfr. Maybe I am too l33t from watching all of those soldering videos on youtube :P

I ripped up 2-3 of the little copper terminal things while desoldering it, I got really impatient so it's all my fault.

They still work, so it could have been worse.

Yup, but they're not in the mail yet :) They'll be my first properly thick PBT sets.

About damaging a QFR or Filco board, a single sided board is a lot easier to desolder from. Double sided the solder sticks to the little copper tube AND both sides of the board. So, for the QFR just don't keep the iron on one trace / pin for too long, otherwise just go for it.

I really want set of the Orange and White bi-colour doubleshot Vortex caps, but they won't fit my Pure and I can't seem to find a European vendor that sells them yet. They look like excellent keycaps.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

:) Looking forward to each and every one. The Cherry Legends set was a lucky find since I missed the GB. Thanks to mashby! Speaking of which, the doorbell rang this morning just as I was about to head out to work:

62343-0

And inside:

62345-1

All keycaps in the set present and accounted for! :D I ended up putting a diamond keycap on the tilde / backtick key. It feels better than I was expecting thin SP ABS doubleshots to feel. I actually really like the DCS profile.

Getting a bunch of PCB mount Alps knock offs (no clue how they'll be), some Kaihl/Kaihu switches to mess around with, an original Cherry black on beige and cream double shot set in pretty decent shape, and some of those funky pink knock off Cherry MX stems that are supposed to be between a Brown and a Clear.

That's the difference between measuring the bottom-out, which is what that 65g is referring to, and the way everyone else does it, measuring the grams to actuation point. If it was referring to the latter it probably would be strong.

For my sister. She wanted a blue switch UK full layout keyboard with a white case. And when I showed her the Shine 3 with the white case, the Tuhaojin caught her eye. For her its an endgame keyboard so she considered the £40 extra for a case that matches her decor was worth it :) Should be here in a week. It will probably end up with the orange on white cherry replica set.
