Honestly I kind of used to be like that, I'd say there was a good year long period there where I always had stuff in the mail. Then I'd wonder why I wasn't that bothered when it arrived. Now that I'm sitting on potential purchases for a while before ordering I'm finding myself much more satisfied with my purchases, no stupid impulse purchases to make me feel guilty :P
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Same, and I am not anxious while waiting for my stuff to come like I used to be, unless it is something big.

So my HHKB Type-S shipped on Saturday, arrived in Chicago yesterday night, and has been flagged for processing by customs this morning. Hopefully since it was a Priority Express package that it will take hours to pass through rather than days.  :-X

I won a Televideo Model 970 terminal keyboard on eBay last week. It has what appear to be thick spherical double shot keycaps on what I *think* are Futaba complicated linear switches. These may be Cherry MX compatible!

So we'll see what I do: use the old switches and case with a USB conversion or harvest the key caps. Should be interesting.

An Epson PX-8. It should have Hirose Cherry M8 switches.

So you're the one who beat me on that.  I was hoping to pick it up for a song.  It won't be MX compatible though.

I found the Televideo through one of the "great finds" forums, either here or on DT, I cannot recall which. I'll post some photos once I get the keyboard and disassemble it. It was a little more than I was hoping to pay. The proceeds went to charity, at least.

Not MX compatible you say? Ah well. I'll break out the calipers once it arrives to see what is going on there. Maybe they can fit with a shim if they are oversized.

Back in the good old days Model Ms were $5 at thift stores and $20 on eBay. How times have changed.

nubbinator I'll PM you if I decide to pass it on.

----

Since my last post, I received some doubleshot Esc keys from Signature Plastics, a DCS row 1 and an SA row 3. Even SA row 3 is much less tall than OEM profile row 5. Compared to Vortex PBT doubleshots the keys (particularly the DCS) feel like a feather - super light. Makes me think that a set of SA row 3 or row 2 would be perfect for a keyboard like a Model M with a curved back plate.
