pulled the trigger on a second FC660C, should be on it's way by now :) freaking love that, need a second one for work, can't be arsed to carry one around every day.

also, ebayed jaybird bluebuds X, fed up with the cords

oh, let me know how you like those jaybirds. i've been eyeing them lately
I have a set, and I really like them. It takes some time to get the fit right. I would not compare them to any high end set, but for Bluetooth they are the best I've used so far.

good to know, they're a bit pricey so i want to see if they're worth it before i take the plunge.

sure thing.....i can only compare them to creative EP-830 which i am using at the moment. i listen to drum and bass almost exclusively, so i'll see how that goes :)

After reading way too many forum posts , and watching way too many sound tests/video reviews; the HHKB Type-S is on it's way to me via Rakuten and Tenso.  Typing this on my first mech; a daskeyboard pro with volume controls with blues.

Did I buy an over-praised board that's entirely too costly due to its exclusivity and looks? Time will well.

I'm always wary of forums based on one product, sometimes an average product dominates the conversation (happens to AT M50s in headphone forums I frequent).

Either way I'm excited! This place tends to give good info.

Did you get it via Tenso/Rakuten too? Should be no shipping costs to us in Australia with their current deal.

Hello, fellow aussie!

I'm not sure what that is. I got mine off ebay for $351 AUD with free shipping, though. I googled Rakuten and their prices look a bit cheaper. Bit late to have a problem with that now. Anyway, mine should be arriving by the end of the week.

Also, mine is the non-silent version. Didn't seem right to spend an extra $100 or so just on that.

They don't appear to have the non type S without bundled in enebrick, so you didn't pay that much extra. Honestly I wouldn't pay more than 20-30 for the silenced version, those ebayers really hike up the type-s prices.

I would have taken the S if I had known the option was there without paying too much extra (or in this case, it was cheaper than my non-S)

http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/pfudirect/item/10000027/?s-id=borderless_recommend_item_en link if anyone is interested. Japan one of the few places we can get decent shipping prices down under.

They don't appear to have the non type S without bundled in enebrick, so you didn't pay that much extra. Honestly I wouldn't pay more than 20-30 for the silenced version, those ebayers really hike up the type-s prices.

Be sure to use Tenso as you can waive the international shipping altogether.

I mention it in the post you quoted  ;)

Does anyone know about the various shipping method tenso uses? EMS looks like a no-brainer right? It appears quicker, cheaper and comes insured.

Mine is type-s non printed caps for $323 AUD with a $10 forwarding fee with free shipping (tenso are a forwarding service with 3000 yen discount on shipping until the 18th, which is free for us).

Just hit myself in the head for that one... lol sorry, it turns out sometimes I don't read :))
I'll be choosing EMS, it's the quickest as you mentioned.

Guess it's time to mention it... I have a Type- S on the way woo!

Thanks flyersfan!!!!!!!! :D:D hahaha... it struck me sooner than I'd expected.
I realized it costs the same as my HHKB Pro2 at EK.com, so why not try it  ;D
I may end up selling my original HHKB (about 1 month's usage), but we'll see!

Having used a stock, dental-banded, and now a Type-S HHKB, I like the latter the best of all. With the extra HHKB caps I ordered, proxy fees, and EMS shipping (4 days to get to my local PO from Tokyo), I saved more than $50 over ordering the exact same gear from EK.

I think you'll really like the Type-S when you get it.

This is what I've been trying to tell everyone since last year but people still keep buying the regular model (or God forbid, the Type-S for 350) from EK or choosing the FC660C over the HHKB (thinking the HHKB costs 100+ than the FC660C)... Sigh.

Yeah! Actually, I've been meaning to thank you for that Sygaldry, your post is where I first learned of Tenso last year. Really helpful!
Unfortunately, it said that the promotion was over and I could not try it. It's finally come back now :thumb:

Thanks for this!! It's great hearing you're enjoying the Type-S over other options.
I actually got the
blue+red cap bundle as well since they're so cheap in yen!

But yeah, Tenso has those shipping promotions pretty often. I've seen it at least 4 times over the course of a year.

I'm waiting on a new realforce tenkeypad. I needed one to go with my compact keyboard, so I thought I'd try out some topre switches at the same time. :)

Just placed an order with BigBlueSaw to have a set of plates made for my first keyboard build.  So stoked.

50 Alps SKCCAF (tall cream vintage tee mount). There were 3950 more on sale and someone bought up the rest of them …
