50 Alps SKCCAF (tall cream vintage tee mount). There were 3950 more on sale and someone bought up the rest of them …

Why would someone need or want that many vintage switches?  Even if there was bulk pricing I would imagine that is a fair chunk of change.

I've had mine for a couple months now, and I love it. It is heavy but you get used to it fast and it is the most solid feeling board I've ever used. What I didn't expect was that I love it for gaming as well. Enjoy!

How much difference is there? I just got my HHKB this morning and I feel like stiffer switches would be nice to have. I'm sorely tempted to acquire some 55g switches and dental bands and open it up. Just afraid my ineptitude would render it a brick.

I'm used to typing on a Model M now, so I made a lot of mistakes on the lighter 45g switches on the HHKB.

A Novatouch. Since Amazon is now collecting sales tax in Illinois, it was actually a couple bucks cheaper to order from Walmart of all places. It should be at the store down the street from my office by the end of the week.

Poker II with MX clears! Pretty hyped, I've only ever used blues and Topres.

Green topre enter and WASD from elitekeyboards for my HHKB.

Two translucents, one green, and one teal gas mask.

Hopefully Toxic will get here soon as well. Going to be a great couple of weeks!

After 3 long months, my GDEMU has finally shipped. What is a GDEMU? Glad you asked. It basically replaces a Sega Dreamcast's failure-prone optical drive in favor of a device that allows you to run GD-ROM images from an SD card. I bought it pretty much to play one game: Shenmue II. I have the import PAL version on disc, but the game streams so much data that it wears out the Dreamcast's laser assembly. Not only will the GDEMU be more reliable, it should also dramatically cut down on loading times.

Here is a link with more information. The guy who made it is working on a similar device for the Sega Saturn as well.

Thats a steal! If I was going to have bought a new HHKB, I would have done that, but I got my Pro 2 white secondhand in mint condition for about 195, and I put dental bands on it, and it has been my favorite board since I got it, and is great.

NP, sir.

Anyway... Since I'm sure a couple of people are interested in how to order from Tenso x Rakuten here is how my Type-S purchase went down last month:

Day 1
1. Signed up on Tenso
2. Verified ID (they say it takes a day to process but it only took 30 minutes for me)
3. Placed Type-S order on Rakuten (PFU Direct store)
4. Got email from PFU (all in Japanese)
5. Responded to email in English with "I confirm this purchase, please dispatch the item!"

Day 2
6. Got response from PFU Support when their Japanese offices opened (time zone difference) - "Sygaldry-dono, thank you for your business, we have dispatched the item, etc)
7. PFU shipped the package out to Tenso.
8. Package arrived at Tenso warehouse on the same day!

Day 3
9. Tenso processed the item the next day and the package showed up in their system
10. I paid the ~$10 handling fee and selected EMS shipping (which was free with the Rakuten promotion - make sure to wait for the coupon to arrive in your email inbox first and apply it to your Tenso account before paying for shipping)!

Day 4
11. Tenso shipped the package out (Friday morning) - a note here: Tenso has specific shipping times and the next shipping time is always posted in the sidebar on their website.

Day 5
(Saturday, nothing happened)

Day 6
12. Package arrived in Chicago (Sunday morning) according to tracking info

Day 7
13. Monday - First delivery attempt (I wasn't home)

Day 8
14. Picked up package at Post Office

Shipping was super fast, and I paid a total of $248 for my HHKB Pro 2 Type-S shipped. Would highly recommend Tenso (especially when they have shipping promotions going on). Interestingly enough, the actual time in shipping was faster than it would have been for me to order from EK and the cost was lower than it would have cost for me to buy the regular HHKB from them as well.

Rakuten x Tenso Promotion = Good situation.

Despite their website saying it's not slated to come into stock until tomorrow, my KUL ES-87 with clears shipped from MK today. It's probably going to take longer because of the ice storms headed to Tennessee but I'm not in a super hurry.

I also have an MX brown QFR on the way.

PFU sells directly through Rakuten Global  ;)
Best way to buy a Type-S at the best possible price =)
(When Tenso has their Rakutem promotions going on)

Yep, today's last day I think. Thanks to Sygaldry for the heads up, I ended up paying about $257 for the Type-S + handling + insurance (shipping waivered)
NP, sir.

10. I paid the ~$10 handling fee and selected EMS shipping (which was free with the Rakuten promotion)

Day 4

Thanks for the help again, friend. This is super helpful for what can initially be quite confusing.

I am having some trouble with my Type-S as it's stuck in PFU warehouse, but hopefully it will work out...!

Ordered mine on Monday from Rakuten, got a reply in Japanese that it was shipped (I think). Friday and its not in Tensos facilities and I have no idea how to track it from Rakuten because my orders page is in Japanese :(

Nice man. Too bad FrozenCPU is closed now so you can't order mod supplies from there to improve on that cooler.
