I haven't ordered from him in a while, but if it takes about as long as when qtan sends something it should take around a week or two.

I still can't believe it took 2 weeks to ship simple o-rings. Maybe they were out of stock. My brother's birthday is on the 21th, i hope i'll get them in time.

Yeah, that's a bit odd.  I contacted him before I placed my order to make sure everything was in stock, and ready to ship.

Thanks :) I'm very excited to get them, I just need to get a decent Amp/DAC setup to get the full force of it.

Have you got a set yourself? Can I just plug them into my regular headphone port until I get myself an Amp?

I have many audio friends who use 990s, but I am partial to my Shure 940s atm. I definitely enjoy the experience when I do get to use 990s. If you want to use them to their full dynamic range and accuracy you need an amp. If you are just upgrading from something much lower in the food chain it will sound amazing in a regular old soundcard/computer.

Ah OK. Yeah, I've only got some ATH-M50s at the moment, so these are going to be a pretty big jump. Glad I can use them straight away though :)

You can but it might turn you off of them really. When I first got mine before my Vali had come I just plugged them into my soundcard and it just wasn't very nice. The V-shape was just ultra-pronounced

The V shape?

Emphasized bass and treble with reduced mids, aka the sound is like a V. (High bass on one end, high treble on the other). Using an amp/dac seems to help reduce the V-emphasis. I have dt990 pros too!  :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.... OK. I will bear that in mind, but I don't think I'm going to notice it lol.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Trust me, I wasn't really an audiophile at all before buying the headphones, but I definitely noticed it. Before the amp, they were meh, I wasn't really a fan at all. After hooking it up to the amp/DAC, they sounded great.
