Why do I have an urge to buy anything with a "Z" in the name?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

S'ok :)

I just saw the name and thought "I've got to get one of those".  Then I realised what it was.  Then I tried to work out what else with a Z I could buy instead.

Thanks a lot HMRC. At least my Keycool RGB will look a bit more presentable after tomorrow.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Yep, Definitely looks like Maxi-switch now that I've seen the wiki, so thanks for pointing that out! Well, now all doubt has been removed that I paid too much for it.  Live and learn I guess.  Assuming that I like the feel, I Think I'm going to put diodes in it and wire an xwhatsit controller to it to make it NKRO with solenoid optional.

Eh, mine might have been dirty or something, but I really didn't like mine. Pretty heavy and gritty.

The reason for the price gap is that the G-SYNC version uses an IPS type panel over the FREESYNCs TN+film panel. This means that our G-SYNCs will have wider viewing angles and richer colours which is what we really wanted in a PC monitor.  ;)

Vortex Doubleshot PBT Keycaps

PBT Dark set (soon to be in the mail)

Inked and Screened Star Wars Patent Prints x4

Acer XB270HU 27-inch monitor x2

Camelbak Eddy Bottle

El Rio Laptop Backpack

After putting everything in a list like this I feel overwhelmed...

Jesus, the price difference between the G-SYNC and FREESYNC versions of those monitors is ridiculous. That's one of the few things that have always dissuaded me from going to NVidia.

The reason for the price gap is that the G-SYNC version uses an IPS type panel over the FREESYNCs TN+film panel. This means that our G-SYNCs will have wider viewing angles and richer colours which is what we really wanted in a PC monitor.  ;)

G-Sync module adds to the cost as well :(

Patiently waiting for the IPS version of the ROG Swift.

You're right it does but if the Acer XB270HU was using a TN panel the gap wouldn't be as large as it is now.

The ROG swift is already $750 I can't imagine how much the IPS version is gonna be

Yea I'm kind of scared to see how much it will be, but since Computex was only over a month ago, very few details are out.

The Acer is great too, but I just don't like the glossy bezels (but not enough to not grab one if the Asus is too much)

Until then my dual Dell U2312hm's will have to do.

I've got to agree on the glossy bezel, I'm not a fan of that. However it is fairly thin so once I eventually mount it on a stand I don't think it will bother me all too much.

Making a stop at wlhlm's house first though..

How?  :))  I hope that someday I'll be able to see your full collection.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

I'm still waiting for my first mechanical keyboard to arrive (should be tomorrow). I've been a member of this board for less than a week.

...yet I have put in orders for:

2 sets of Double-Shot ABS Keycaps (purple, black)
1 set of Vortex PBT caps (black)
1 set of Vortex Double-Shot PBT caps (blue on white)
4 single caps from the Hot Keys Project sale here

Something is happening to me.
