Shadow of Mordor was tons of fun - was pretty much a ripoff of Assassin's Creed's mechanics but those orcs were awesome - I have never been called a cun# so many times in a videogame  )

I upgraded to a TriX 290X from my trusty ol' 550Ti over the summer and its ran everything I've thrown at it no problem.  Given, most of the things I've played before Shadows of Mordor weren't super graphically intensive but that's mainly due to the types of games I play.

Also, good choice with the 970, I had narrowed my choices down when I was looking to the 970, the 290, and the 290X but the 290X came up for sale first
