Rapoo KX with black keycaps.
Bought it for €22, so it will serve as a testbench for modifications.

Hahaha, the Rapoo KX boards were my jams before I ended up moving on. My first mechanical keyboards, and I modded the hell out of them. Excuse my terrible attempt at being artsy, but this was taken month and months ago. :)

They are both heavily modified (at least relative to my abilities xD) with lubed gateron clears + MX lock w/ gat clear spring on the black one, a custom cable for the black one, SIP sockets, stickers, etc. Same thing for the white one, just didn't have the bezel powder coated and I still use white LEDs despite having SIP sockets.  Oh, yeah. It uses 62g ergo clears, that's the main difference. Both have had right shift rewired to be on the left of the arrow cluster too.

I ended up selling the black one since I barely use it anymore. May she make her new owner as happy as I was when I was so green in this community.

Sorry, this is so off topic! ...But I'd love to see how you mod yours!

I'm waiting for the rest of the parts for my mom's computer. I got the case, SSD, and motherboard today. She knows nothing about it though, it's going to be a surprise.

Thanks! I miss it, but someone else will be able to appreciate it more now. Yeah the KX is so sleek, it's what got me into mechanical keyboards in the first place. :)

Although I have some things that are supposed to be in the mail now or very soon, for various reasons I suspect I have absolutely nothing in the mail today.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Mine came yesterday - mid and bass is fantastic. The treble sounds great in some songs, and a tad harsh in others. Hoping I just need to get used to it - my previous full sized cans were considered dark, so quite different experience.

I've been loving mine so far, I haven't had too many headphones to compare too but they are for sure my favorite at this point.

I also have some enabler pcbs in the mail, and an hhkb.

Oh, I also have some gateron yellows on the way. I think that's it for the moment :)
