Having owned and then sold one myself i honestly prefer the HHKB's 45G case mounted switches IMO.  The 55G Plate mount while snappier gets tiring on the fingers on long term usage and is harder to maintain a higher WPM with.

If it is the only A87 and you happen to have Windows 10... make sure to back up your files. My A87 after programming with libusb was unreadable until I reformatted.

On the other hand (selling out*) Tx87 sold by Leeku is RGB/all LED with non-crazy resistor placement and fits as well.

Yeah... the resistor placement is super confusing. The Tx87 sounds interesting, part of the appeal of this kit was how cheap feng sold it for though.
Edit: Is the only way to get a Tx87 to find one in classified now?
