got myself some not-so-old 2nd hand keyboard with cherry mx black (with MX grey for space) for $10. it's quite nice with very solid build quality, and the keycaps is doubleshot as well (don't know if ABS or PBT).

this will serve as a main board until i find myself some nice customs...

If it's doubleshot, then it's most likely ABS. I have yet to see doubleshot PBT caps :(

edit:

Not "In the mail" anymore, but since I just arrived home from my US trip, I might as well share what arrived in the meantime/what I picked up while there.

Picked up:
HHKB Pro 2 Black printed and landing pads from EliteKeyboards (some Mechlube coming later by Mail)

Arrived while away:
Topre PBT Spacebars from AliExpress (stem needed a little retouch, but now they fit wonderfully.
HHKB metal sticker from cookie's GB
Tokyo Meetup caps from Decentkeyboards
Bonk Artisan from Mr. McHorse (he even included one extra Bonk and a Blank key without me knowing)
Zealios (80x67g and 40x62g) + Lube + KitKats from Zeal
HKP Artisans from the Flashsale (2x Bloodsplatter DCS MX, Warmaster Chinese new Year and Raven Black+ Green Poison)

Shine through legends on Vortex keycaps are POM - AFAIK the rest are PBT (when they're marked as PBT doubleshot). I think Deck made doubleshot PBT keycap keyboards for the Police Force, which somehow led to Deck making doubleshot PBT keysets in that funky gothic/comic sans font.

Wait a minute, I checked my facts on Mechanicalkeyboards.com and it looks like Deck actually uses polycarbonate for the legends.
Quote
Cool. Hard. Ice. Back lit by blue LED lights under a tough polycarbonate housing to light up your nights. One LED per key lights the individual characters - and they will never rub off! Comes with a 6' USB cable with a type A plug. The 82-key Deck weighs 2 pounds and measures 12" wide x 6" deep x 1.8" high (304.88mm wide x 152.41mm x 45.72mm). Available with linear switches only (Cherry MX1A-11NW, black).

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Pretty standard. Just wanted to see if the lid would fit a gatorade squeeze bottle

MY NEW BED

What happened to the old one?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect.
