"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Soon I'll get a Cherry g80-1800 with USB (2003 edition). The switches will be de-soldered from the board to make some other keyboards probably.

EDIT: Is it hard to de-solder the switches? Would be cool if I could get the switches without damaging the board very much so I can maybe re-sell to someone else.

KPG was given more than one (more going up on sale on his website soon) cosmo by booper, and due to a couple of happy accidents I was offered one of them! I cannot be luckier if I had planned it, to be honest.

Rubber dome unsaver
why
I need a quiet keyboard for when my family is sleeping.
Makes sense, but why spend 150 on a RD unsaver if you can just buy a rf87u for a little bit more

I spent $100 on the keyboard, not $150.  Shipping is always external when I evaluate.  And I'm not sure Topre is any better than the dome unsaver :P

Have a Leopold FC660M on the way. White with Red switches. Will be swapping in Leopold front printed PBTs as soon as it comes in.

I just wanted to give 60% another shot. The quality on the Pok3r is a little disappointing after all the hype I've seen. The FC660M having some non-standard sizes would be annoying if I didn't like Leopold PBTs so much.

A white Realforce 87 55g. Even though I already have a black one. It was only $236AUD with the eBay sale though!!! Plus there was only 4 of them and I'd imagine it would be very hard to get them in Australia again. Probably didn't need it though. I need help.

A white Realforce 87 55g. Even though I already have a black one. It was only $236AUD with the eBay sale though!!! Plus there was only 4 of them and I'd imagine it would be very hard to get them in Australia again. Probably didn't need it though. I need help.

That is a good price - even MechKB was $275 (when they were in stock).

I don't really like custom keycaps too much but I have to say this is by far the most awesome keycap I have ever seen

Some have waited longer than a year.

Thanks. It's only a PCB and some other parts, so hopefully it shouldn't take as long as an entire build. I recently talked to someone that did a similar order, and it "only" took them about 7 weeks to receive. Hopefully I'll have similar luck.
