Night Caps come today and I've got PC water cooling supplies and sleeving stuff en route as well.

man, I wanna try watercooling at some point.

I've done a few custom loops for product reviews I've done but this is my first personal loop. I'm pumped to get it up and running!

Night Caps come today and I've got PC water cooling supplies and sleeving stuff en route as well.

man, I wanna try watercooling at some point.

Short version: Not worth it, but I know you will do it anyways.

Explanation plus little rant:
Modern CPU coolers (even the 40 Euro ones) are really silent and have enough cooling power for everything you might throw at them. GPU's are a different thing, watercooling GPU's really does improve both Temps and noise a lot, the thing is, to get a watercooling setup done in a way that it is not louder than a good aircooled setup at idle costs a lot of work and money. There is so much stuff  you could spend the money on instead that would make a lot more of a difference. But, once you go watercooled you don't really want to go back, even if it doesn't make much of a difference it looks way too fancy to not keep it.

Also, if you ever have to change your GPU you'll have to pay for a new waterblock for it (if it is a different model), but more importantly you have to drain the whole System which I find really annoying. I still miss my HD7970 (RIP), the GTX970 could never replace it and performs worse in a few cases, so I never went the extra mile kilometer (and 200 Euros) to grab a waterblock and backplate for it, now I'm stuck with a watercooling setup that is overkill (I'm talking 240x120x60 and 360x120x60 rads) for just my CPU and limits airflow too much to achieve good GPU temps.

I agree with you on many points.  Considering CPU cooling, look at the gold standard the CM Hyper 212 EVO set, for only $30.  Even GPU-wise, the thermal efficiency of the Pascal chips is sufficient under air.  Upgrading GPUs under water adds at minimum the cost of the block, usually another $100+.  CPU swaps might be better depending on what you're going to.  The blocks have been universal across the 115X chips from Intel but the buggers keep switching the pins so you need a new motherboard anyway.  If you plan on swapping hardware a lot I'd stay away from a custom loop.

As you said though, it looks amazing.  I'm building a modded case right now, fully decked out, so I have to go the extra distance and do watercooling.  Doesn't hurt to get sponsored for most of the parts either  :thumb:

I'm very happy with mine. For the price tag it does what I expect. The bass punch could be a bit better in my opinion. But again, the price tag.

Got 4 green Jellykey's on the way for a WASD cluster on my daily driver.

Gonna be getting a realforce 45g board in the mail today. Pretty excited as I recently parted ways with my HHKB and I'm looking towards the opposite direction, size-wise. It's the uniform 45g but I'd love to get my hands on the variable weight to see how it compares to 30g gat clears (also something I recently parted with).
So fancy!

Topre PBT spacebars are finally en route. Interested to see how they turned out, considering some of the reviews I've been hearing. However, I don't have any round 1 spacebars to compare.

Matt3o seems to say that the criticisms against the new round are overblown, and that the warping is something that's easily fixed with a hair dryer (which is true). I've also seen someone else say the texture IS the same as the first.

It's anyone's guess

Received both of my Topre spacebars sets and both sets have none of the issues that have been brought up by other buyers. Perhaps I got lucky with my shipment but no complaints here. While they aren't perfect, they are acceptable and color/texture is extremely similar to my stock ABS HHKB spacebar.
