Just did my first swap out of a full set of key caps... replaced my original Ducky Shine 2 key caps with KBC Semi-Clear ABS 104-Keyset.

Ducky DK9008S2 Blue LED | Ducky DK2108S OMG | Ducky DK9008S2 White LED | Ducky YOTD | CM QuickFire TK LE | Filco MJ2 TKL custom | Trik Alu Skin Custom

Mechanical keyboards are primarily vessels for novelty keycaps...

Put the Cherry MX White ("Milk") Switches off my RACE and put them on my Poker,
Why? Because i can ..... Also dusted off my old Nikon D80 and Flickr account.  :D This is the "Geekhack Media" forum after all  :p

Got PCB Browns coming in sometime, debating if i should take these off and put them on the RACE or put the browns on the RACE instead......

Also.....crap the space bar and backslash sometimes doesn't work, need to take the Poker apart again, something must be up......

That's a motivating post right there. Might even get around to installing my poker plate with the motivation I got from this. I just need to get some gear to desolder the switches.

Nice mod indeed, but why did you desolder the switches? Am I missing something here?

Its faster for me to desolder and solder than to take apart 120-140 switches

The white switches, which i pulled off my RACE, are nice--tactile and clicky, but require a good amount more force than blue. i find them fun to type on. but horrible to game with. They are supposed to have a much softer click but with my jackhammer heavy typing they are actually extremely loud.

Yeah I know but since both the Poker X and Race is PCB mounted you dont need to desolder the switches.

You need to write a guide or something on desoldering.

First thing out of the box, added stickered and lubed Ergo Clears to my new Poker. Left all the mods as Browns due to LEDs - will rectify this when I end up needing to desolder to add a plate. Learnt two things today: stickers are a ***** to put on and unmounted switches are a ***** to open up haha.

There are still some left, just not on special.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Added an Eraser Pink BroBot and white PBT keys to my QFR Greens. The top/bottom case of the QFR is rubberized on this model, dont know if it is for others.

Also added another CC to my RF. Very Thirsty...

I think they look better on smaller keyboards than they did on my Leopold when I had them on it. Or maybe it's just that the Poker is black that it looks better. Either way, I am happy with them :D

This is fairly tame by the boards standards, but it's also my first image post. I've been using mechanical boards for years, but I've only just discovered the "hobby".

Apologies for the poor picture, lighting in here is awful today.

Board is a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid, grey and orange keys are from WASD, HL Lambda from QWERkeys, three custom keys in the top right were freebies from a member here (thank you!!).

well that depends on how big the GH stickers are. I'll need to get another zippo for those ones. But that no problem I love zippos.

Orange is nice, but not enough yellowness :)

I got another ALU HOUSING
It's called '356N MARK2'

This is a very rare and small amount of built housing at OTD.KR

It features
Rounded corners of large angle
Tops visible only structure
Has the characteristics of the 356 PCB BOARD.
