So it begins...
« on: Sat, 13 June 2015, 09:01:25 »
Like most new members, I have been reading board for a while now and finally decided to join up! My current setup is a HHKB Lite2. Im looking into getting either the HHKB Professional 2 (If I really want to spend the $$$), Filco Minila, or Leopold FC660M.

Welcome! How do you like your HHKB Lite2? I saw it on amazon and was wondering why a HHKB was so cheap and then read the description that it was like a premium rubber dome keyboard? Sounds interesting though  :thumb:

As for Leopold FC660M, they're currently being discontinued so goodluck finding one =\

Welcome to Geekhack!

If you like the arrow keys on the HHKB Lite, you'd probably want to go for the HHKB Pro 2 JP (Japanese version), or the FC660M.

Or you could get an FC660C - for oneness with cup rubber AND arrow keys!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I really like the HHKB Lite2. I know it's membrane switches but they feel good to me. I think it would be a good start for beginners like me. I went in on a massdrop for the kc60 keyboard with brown gateron switches. Can't wait to get that in and try.

When you get a HHKB pro2, could you write a comparison between two? Just curious haha..
