What are scoops? And what are nubs?
So are those poppy things nubs or scoops?
oh yeah i forgot to mention...i'm in to help with the cost as long as the mold is retained as community property.
no for the f+j row that are scooped like cherry.
Quote from: sth on Mon, 19 November 2012, 16:51:08no for the f+j row that are scooped like cherry. right, but if the mould was being cast for a new shape of cap, wouldn't it make more economic sense to allow for all the row's to be done? Or isn't that possible with how keys are produced (I have no idea).

Scoop all the sets!!I'm worried if there is anything special or different involved with double shooting with a scoop key. If you look at the underside of Cherry F and J keys you can tell that the insert with the legend is different from any of their other double shots. But if SP says they can do it then I'd hope they realize the legend to fit inside it would also have to conform to the scoop shape.
Love this, let's do it. A group buy for F/J keys from recent sets seems like a good idea to cover the cost.My thumbs also love the idea of re-doing the bottom row at some point in the future.
Blue lettering on grey cap? Like the cherry replica GB?Or Blue on black.
I don't really think we need to do Cherry replicas for these, for the same reason there was no option for Cherry replica off center stepped caps lock. There are already plenty of them available.

I'm not partaking as I already have all the cherry caps I want, along with original scoops.I will however, do a little fundraiser to help you all pay for the mold, I've been dying to do a cherry fundraiser for ages!

In order to save in cost Shouldn't we all compromise on the same font and color?
but wouldn't it cost a lot if we had to get one of each mold for all of the sets that we have bought?(as I read each new font needs a new mold). I would be fine with basic White on Black if it would help us save on the cost of multiple molds. I wouldn't even mind blanks. As long as if I get the feel of the caps.I am very fond of the Cherry color"Royal Blue on Grey"
We only need 1 mold for all the sets.
I'd be interested in the White on Black and Black on White sets.
Why wouldn't you just buy real Cherry DS's then?
Here at GeekClack, time isn't worth anything because CCs are money.
Hope this process isn't dead, because I am very interested in those Scoops :O

I don't want to spend $60 (I'm guessing) just for 2 keycaps really.

Also, CPTBadAss, they feel different. You really have to experience it to see the difference. Whether you agree that they're better or not is up to you.
I know The_Ed sells single keycaps for $1. I don't know if he has any spare scoops.
Right here!Looks like he has a few that we can pick up if we needed to.Show Image
Oh, I thought Cherry produced these themselves.
Oi! I want those F and J's! Hopefully he has more than one pair, if not you can have them CPT.
I'm gonna have to desolder another 7 POS boards (that's 840 switches) to keep up with the brown switch demand because of all the custom keyboards coming out...
Also, to those who haven't expressed interest but do have it, mind showing it? There are some doubters out there...
Quote from: SmallFry on Thu, 30 May 2013, 22:49:09Just FYI, I've found that Melissa has scoops onsite from their G81-3000 caps that they sell. We don't need to send her one after all.Thanks. I'll PM her about that tomorrow. Though I don't imagine that they'll want to pull one or two caps from a set they can sell. Might still have to send some. I have a lead on that anyway.
