The suggestion of bear on the far left side might look okay.  Also, an OLED screen above the right arrow would make this next level!

You can't really have ISO support in an alice type layout.

Why not? Edit: I'll answer myself - because the Enter and Backslash keys don't align verically.

OK, but if you look at the Virgo by Flex and you get rid of the TKL part, you can get ISO on an alice type layout - although I do prefer the look of ansi on those boards

I know it might be hard to give an approximation but what's the expected timeline for this board?

The Maja is similar and available soon but I definitely prefer this one. I want to know if I should wait for this one or not.

The Virgo has a different layout - the right edges of the Enter and Backslash keys in the ANSI layout are aligned. Here they're staggered, so they cannot be replaced by an ISO Enter.

Oh I know, I was just stating that it was technically possible, but required some work.

Definitely need solder PCB, but looks good layout-wise.

Maybe make the logos on the top optional? Not feeling how either of those bear renders look.

Yeah agree that the Bear logo being vertical doesn't seem suited at that spot. But I'm not a designer so maybe I'm in the minority in this.

Maybe the reason some people don't like the bear at the bottom of the board is because it is too close to the edge and keys without leaving any natural space around it. Maybe making the logo a bit smaller would help with that. Does that make sense ?

I think the location is good but maybe it feels a bit too cluttered?

Is it possible to make the whole bear paw the weight? Not really a fan of the weight only being the inner part of the paw, just looks off to me.  I think the entire paw being the weight will make it pop more and automatically connect it to a bear paw rather than having to look twice to see what it is. Maybe its just me lol

This would definitely look better but it would increase the price by a lot since the whole paw will be a big piece of brass

Alice is a ****ing trash keyboard with the all time worst set of compromises to ergonomics.

While the Alice splits, it fails to address the row stagger problem (either by getting rid of it like Ergodoxes or reversing it on the left hand like the Topre ergo board) and fails to introduce any significant columnular stagger.

I can forgive boards like the standard Microsoft ergo boards for this because they keep everything in place such that it could be used by someone expecting their computer to be used by several people without causing any interruption to anyone's muscle memory. But the Alice changes enough of the thumb use to spoil any general public usability gains. What's left is a half measure of a committment that goes far enough to make turning back difficult but not far enough to do any real good.

On a more serious note, consider adding support for split left shift so people can do angle mod and make it a little more ergo (also gaining the two B keys as completely spare harder-to-reach keys for extra functionality)

I mean if your looking for ergo Alice is not ergo. Know the thread title says it is, but it's really not. Luckily as said, there are other options out there.

yes i know it would increase the price but i think its something most would not mind paying. maybe take away the engraving of "Bear 60" since i know that is an extra cost to make the full bear claw a weight.  I just love heavy keebs like everyone else and that weight seems so small and would barely add weight to a PC keeb which is already light.  Maybe add it on the IC if anything.

I agree . At least make the brass weight comparable to the size of the elephant weight. Whole paw but sized down. I wouldn't mind the extra costs

Maybe??? I mean with it being a 65 i doubt you'd layer much. So it'd probably be for like caps lock and such. per-key RGB or at least for caps + windowed keycap would be tight.

The short link in the op is broken.

As for the logo, is it possible to re-design a "horizontal" logo to get better spacing? For example a bear on its belly, you can also make it look up to match your theme :thumb:
