GMK Yuri will happen again but not any time soon. Thing is that drop spots are plenty so i guess it will redrop probably in 2021.

I just discovered GMK Yuri yesterday and I am extremely interested in a chyrillics set. I was also thinking that I want to discover a SA set as well, because I never had one. So basically you read my mind!

I’m sold on chyrillics, ergodox and novelties sets.

All alphas kits
- Added 6.25u spacebar.

- Removed all the blank keys (they have been moved to spacekeys!). Keep in mind you can still use novelties for 1.25u and 1.5u keys. 40% buyers should not forget to get the spacekeys kit at this point just like the WKL users have to think about getting 7u spacebars.

With GMK set I was irked that, even with multiple sets of all of the kits, I still needed some English mods to cover TKL and numpad mods (home end pg up down etc)

I’m sure there are lots of details to iron out, but you also should consider the alternative alps mount that Alps throwback used.  I think it fits better on alps switches (especially matias), than their standard mount.

SA Royal Navy is coming, and now this and I need both.

Normally not an alps user - no alps boards,  and one of the reasons for this is the scarcity of the caps - sorry I do like my boards to have non beige caps.
Never tried DCS either, so this is also a must buy for me...

So nice! I think all the kit configurations look good. I don't mind having cyrillics alphas + latin mods. They don't bother me. It's been done before (pure hiragana + regular mods on GMK sets). I think everything already looks good as is. Very nice!

Removing the 1.5u keys from ortho is kind of a deal breaker for me. I'm not big on these novelties. Maybe I'll just get the Cyrillic alphas and use blanks as modifiers

The legends for Cherry Replica were funded privately and given all the circumstances i don't think i get a slight chance to get a permission. Even if it was not funded privately the initiator owns all rights for these molds!
In the end i do always my own stuff if needed.

Does the Alps set need to have the Cherry font?  I would be fine with whatever font SP has.  I'm assuming it would look something like Midnight DCS set.

I think it does not need the font tho i really prefer the font. The thing is, i have to see that SP got and i will decide later. Otherwise the cherry font would make it all more expensive because every key will be a custom legend.

I love that you care about fonts, but honestly we Alps folks are so thirsty for new keycaps we will be fine with any font as long as this set is made reality.

My suggestion for using a standard SP font was only intended as a failsafe in case this set gets too expensive.  My preference is to have this set look the way you envision.

I asked Yanbo already for the end quotes for the kit with full custom legends and for kit with standard DCS legends. Depending on how expensive it is, i will decide the way to go.

The Cyrillic legends have a few errors/inconsistencies that need to be addressed:

• Д, Ц, Щ baselines should be aligned with the other characters' baselines, and the descenders should drop below the baseline. Currently, these characters are centered within the keycap, which is incorrect as they're a bit farther up than they should be.
• The same goes for Й and Ё, except they sit a bit lower than they should. The main part of these characters should be aligned with И and Е, and the breve/diaresis should be set above it without affecting the characters' overall position within the keycap.
• И is too narrow, it should be the same width as Й, П and Н.
• The У shape is odd. Sans-serif Cyrillic fonts like this usually don't have a У that looks blocky; the shape should look more like this: У (the curved tail at the bottom is optional).
• The middle stroke in Н should be vertically centered, and, in fact, the character should look exactly the same as Latin H. Currently, the middle stroke is a bit lower than it should be.
• The diagonal spurs in Ж usually have the same shape as in К. This is currently not the case and should be changed.
• The Ж legend isn't tall enough.
• The З legend is too large and too thick.
• The К legend appears too wide / stretched out. It should be exactly the same as the Latin K legend.
• The Cyrillic legends overall are larger than the Latin legends. I doubt this is intended, so it should be fixed.
