Latin is actually quite a logical language.

That was partly my point - I'm sure there's a very sturdy underlying Germanic logic going on, but then I'm English and am half viking, half debased Celt and half unable to grasp the mathematical principles behind logical propositions.

Since there is some confusion on how to order, it would be great if, for people who have ordered, post their orders in 7bit's order format and add a description in human readable form so others can use them as examples?  yes?  No?

The other day I was showing my girlfirend some of the cool keycaps from the various group buys and she said she'd want a Key for the esc or delete key that said HULK SMASH! on it.  I came up with some PNG's of what she was thinking of.

Could probably do Purple on Green or Green on purple as well.

Okay while I'm still waiting on EK to send me my Leopold tenkeyless, (Its been 9 days since I sent it back and I'm starting to think he's holding it hostage to spite me lol,) I figured I might as well figure this business out now. I've got the gist of the idea, PM 7bit a string of characters so that the script can read the order to reduce the headache. However there are several different key colors, styles, and sizes available, as well as the Starcraft keys which I really want but don't have a string for yet. I'm also interested in several of the other random keys shown the round 3 thread and mentioned in here. It looks like this is a fairly long process to get the orders in and everything, so there's plenty of time to figure out what I need.

I'm basically looking for either an 87 key set in red with black lettering or blue with black lettering, that are compatible with the keys on the Leopold, since I doubt there is a way to order a half set of black and red (or blue) alternating keys in a checkerboard pattern that I'm sure many of you have seen. Add in a few of those SC2 and other keys and that's pretty much what I want. It'd be as expensive as the keyboard itself to buy two sets of keycaps in both black with white lettering and red (blue) with black lettering... but I'm sure that's probably standard haha.

For myself and the other Starcraft 2 players here, I'm totally up to create the design for a Psionic Storm and/or Blink keys, I'm pretty good at vector art and could whip them up in no time if they'll get used in the end. I could do others as well, but I picked those because I'd be personally interested in them and they're simple to do with only 1 color to work with.

I thought about doing the same thing but figured my trust would be returned in kind. Honestly if he doesn't ship it out by Monday I'm going to start getting upset again.

So these doubleshots, I'm reading their key height is different than the Leopold's. That true? I suppose a board with all red or blue keys would look pretty sick. Mayhaps you have some pictures of something close to what I've described Ripster? Along with all that legendary know how. PM me if you do, don't want to threadcrap as you say around here.

I tried to make my first order but it doesn't look like I succeeded.

My order:
Code: [Select]
BLANK/MOD/YY 1
BLANK/SE/YY 1
BLANK/FUN/YY 1
BLANK/NOP/YY 1
BLANK/CUR/YY 1
BLANK/SPACE/YY 1
BLANK/FUNT/RA 1

But today I received an order confirmation looking like this:
Code: [Select]
Order-ID|Description|Price|Qty|Pcs|Total
Total   |           |     |   |  0| 0.00

I think I made the order like you're supposed to but I'm a little bit confused.

Any ideas?

I too would really like to have double shots that look like the keys on filco.

What profile is the RETRO?
Is the RETRO available only in white/grey with blue text, no black keys with white text?
What font is in the RETRO, is plain normal without being italic.
Will the windows flag be in this square box or only as a flag.

[rant]Is here just some kind of brain damage going on, everybody wanting those fugly keys.[/rant]

RETRO keys are cylindrical (DCS family).

Black is currently not in the plan, but I can add that color choice, so we will see if there is enough demand.

The font will be SP's font. No other choices.

The widows flag will be as it had been in Round 1 or Round 3 Moogle kit.
Quote from: palindrome;394308
Wow!  A SHOUT key a reality?!  Thanks 7bit!

Will the Commodore key from Round 3 be available as well?

1.25 and 1.5 units versions sdded!

Quote from: dux;394319
Damn' just saw it, will it be a Shout Key for Round Three?

It should be available for all styles, except if demand is too low for a specific keyfamily or color.

Quote from: hashbaz;394408
qft.  All I really want is a nice-looking (i.e., not big-ass centered) doubleshot set in normal colors.  SP's default font would probably be fine with me.

This will be the kit for you.

Available colors should be:

black, red, green, blue on white
black, red, green, blue on grey
white, red, green, blue on black

Colors will not match existing Cherry keys!

Maybe there will be an additional light blue.

Quote from: mkawa;394430
i'm in on this one for enough keys for a filco tenkeyless and a mac kit. i can't for the life of me figure ou t what the styles and colors and order system are, however. will participate again when pictures etc. are up.

all i want are attractive light-colored keys with large-ish letters and icons; i'm not really picky other than that. i'm really tired of how tiny and black the filco lettering/keys are. i keep miskeying in sc2 because they're so damned uniform, and i'm just not enough of a keyboard ninja to otaku it up.

There are 6 styles:

ROUND3
what we had before this round

BIANCO
virtually every color on white, text is normal, but centered.

RETRO
there had been a picture around somewhere, text normal, top-left.

DARK
black on very dark grey and orange on very dark grey,  text normal, top-left.

SPH
these are spherical keys

ALPS
the alps kit should be in colors like BIANCO or RETRO. (not yet decided)

Quote from: litster;394452
7bit, if I want to order Round3 SPACEGREY in Round 4, is this order ID correct?

ROUND3/SPACE

Thanks.

Yep! Now it works!

Grey is the default color, so ROUND3/SPACE the same as ROUND3/SPACE/GREY .

Quote from: maladroid;394958
Can we have the option of using row 3 for every key in the spherical kit?  That seems to be more authentic to how keyboards were typically made pre-1980.

Could be an option.

Don't know what the touch-typists say about this ...

Quote from: Delphox;394986
...  Are the arrow keys in letters in all kits? why not the classical arrow symbol? And definitely I'd love the ಠ_ಠ key for my scape.

There will be arrows on the RETRO and DARK style keys by default. There will be arrows for the cursor keys available for the other styles as well.

This is what RETRO should look like (not exactly but similar):

Each time I look at this I get more and more confused. Still iso help. When is the deadline for orders? How do we pay? Is this like a preliminary system where later only the most popular sets get made? Really, I don't think I'm this big of an idiot, but maybe...

No deadline so far.

Only those kits will make it which are pre-ordered in certain quantities.
Also, prices might change.

Quote from: jblack801;395350
When will the case and placement be decided on for the Dark Side kit? Is there a vote going on for that that I missed?

No vote. But most wanted off-center with normal text.

Quote from: Index;395458
I want in this so bad, but I have a Leopold. So, I have 2 questions:

1) Spacebar? I saw on the wiki that there is only one spacebar that is 118mm wide (SPACE), will that fit on a Leopold?
2) This isn't that big of a deal, but is it possible to get the "light window" for the caps lock and num lock keys?

We still try to find out how much it will cost to make the molds for a new space bar. It will not be cheap, but is not too expensive to be impossible.

Currently there is no 'black on red' available
You need to choose colors for these kits:
MOD          | 15| 22|Modifier keys
ALP          | 28| 15|A-Z keys
PUN          | 21| 12|Punctuation keys
CUR          | 10|  6|Cursor keys

FUN          | 16|  9|Function keys
NOPOO        | 11| 10|Noppoo kit (whithout space)

Awesome, thank you for the reply!
By the way, is there maybe an additional modifier set that includes a bigass enter key, third row |\ key aswell as third row right shift(the same size as a STD capslock)?
Basicaly I'm looking for a complete set/combo to match a SteelSeries 6Gv2 board.

ROUND3/LRET
1.75 units shift is available, as well as the |\ key.

OK, I've added some kits:
SHIFT175     |  1|  2|1.75 units Shift key
SHIFT200     |  1|  2|2 units Shift key
VERTBSLASH   |  1|  1|Vertical Backslash for ISO layout (row 3)
US           |  3|  5|US language kit for ISO keyboards (1.25 shift, J-return, |\ for row 3)

So, you would need:
ROUND3/LRET
ROUND3/SHIFT175
ROUND3/VERTBSLASH

Hi, for now I'm only interested in a couple of REDESC keys. Will it need 25 (or minimum run) buyers for these to be included in this group buy? And if it's done, how much is the estimate cost for these + shipping to Europe (PT)? Thanks.

It is CHERRYREDESC and be sure there will be at least 25 ordered.

Shipping is $14 to Europe, except if they raise the prices in the meantime.

LOD is the regular and LODM is the mirrored version.

would this a valid vote?

SPH/STD87/WHITE/RED 1

Yes, except I've called the kit NOPOO, but because  NOPPOO is correct, I will rename it accordingly.

Question re: the order formatting

Which color refers to the keycap color and the lettering color? It seems that FGColor would be the printed lettering and BGColor would be the keycap itself, but I want to be 100% sure so I don't make a big order that is totally wrong. Thanks

You are right, first comes the text, 2nd the color of the key cap itself.

CHERRYRGB should match existing Cherry keys as close as possible, while RGB150 is a kit to match the chosen style (with 1.5 units modifiers).

That was partly my point - I'm sure there's a very sturdy underlying Germanic logic going on, but then I'm English and am half viking, half debased Celt and half unable to grasp the mathematical principles behind logical propositions.

Ill be in for DARK kit if/when the text is decided. Don't want that centered crap!

Decision is already made:

off-center, Camel Case (ie normal text).

The other day I was showing my girlfirend some of the cool keycaps from the various group buys and she said she'd want a Key for the esc or delete key that said HULK SMASH! on it.  I came up with some PNG's of what she was thinking of.

(Attachment Link) 24140[/ATTACH]   (Attachment Link) 24141[/ATTACH]   (Attachment Link) 24142[/ATTACH]

Could probably do Purple on Green or Green on purple as well.

Can you please post the SVG here in ths thread?

I've already added the SC keys. I will update the wiki soon.

There is currently no black on red available, but you are at least the 2nd to ask for that.

You mean RGB150, right?

CHERRYRGB should match existing Cherry keys as close as possible, while RGB150 is a kit to match the chosen style (with 1.5 units modifiers).

Actually on the wiki I don't see any RGB150. There are CHERRYRGB, then RGB101, RGB104, RGB102, RGB105. I'm a bit confused. What I'd like is RGB modifiers matching Cherry keys AND fitting 105 keys ISO layout. So what should I order? CHERRYRGB or RGB105?
Also, the wiki says an escape key is included. Does it mean a red esc or what?

I tried to make my first order but it doesn't look like I succeeded.

My order:
Code: [Select]
BLANK/MOD/YY 1
BLANK/SE/YY 1
BLANK/FUN/YY 1
BLANK/NOP/YY 1
BLANK/CUR/YY 1
BLANK/SPACE/YY 1
BLANK/FUNT/RA 1

But today I received an order confirmation looking like this:
Code: [Select]
Order-ID|Description|Price|Qty|Pcs|Total
Total   |           |     |   |  0| 0.00

I think I made the order like you're supposed to but I'm a little bit confused.

Any ideas?

Very simple: I've got to add order-IDs for blank keys.

Your idea is not bad.

Except there will be no Swedish blank kit!

I will set up something more useful ...

Will the Wiki be updated for LOD, CHERRYREDESC etc? Maybe an AWESOME-Face Key again?
And how would I order a STD Set of RETRO with Light Blue font on Light/Dark Grey, will this be the standard version of the set?
RETRO/STD ?

RETRO/STD will give the blue on white (whatever will serve as white for this kit) / blue on grey (dito) layout, similar to the picture floating around in this thread.

There will be a 2nd STD kit available with white text on black keys:

RETRO/STD/WHITE/BLACK
or
RETRO/STD/BLACK
as a shortcut.

Regarding language kits, are there still minimums that need to be met for these to be ordered? I'd be quite sad if I were to order ALP and COLEMAK and we didn't end up actually getting any colemak, as that would be my reason for getting the accompanying ALP to begin with. If the policy is to not order those language kits which do not receive enough orders, would it still be possible to get them for a higher price rather than not ordering them at all?
Layout: Colemak
Fastest typing speed: 131 WPM on typeracer, 136 WPM on 10fastfingers.
Daily driver: Filco Tenkeyless MX Brown with ergonomically weighted, lubed springs.
Ergo keyboards: Truly Ergonomic, Kinesis Advantage, Ergodox

Language kits will be also available (at a higer price) if there are less than 25 orders. It might happen that they are not available in all colors.

Ohhh ..

My confusion!

I should have looked into the wiki myself!

The numbers are the numbers of keys on a standard layout keyboard!

So forget RGB150 and RGB125!

It is
RGB101: 1.5 units modifiers, 2.25 and 2.75 units shift
RGB102: 1.5 units modifiers, 1.25 and 2.75 units shift
RGB104: 1.25 units ...
etc.

Yes, this is clear enough. What I still don't get: are RGB101, 102, 104 and 105 available options for CHERRYRGB?
Also, you didn't reply me about the escape key.

I've been searching for what "Bianco" looks like, but have had no luck.  7bit's answer posts have been awesome to date, and maybe this will make it in the next one.

7bit if you want some help creating PNG's or SVG's for the reference wiki I will be happy to help.  Red on black doesn't do much for me but a picture of red on black would really help.  I know too many cooks can spoil the soup, but I'm willing if needed.

is that true?
the wiki says:
Centered, all-caps, SA-profile in Black (NN), Gray (GSC) and White (WA) with colored add-on kits in Red (RA), Green (VCJ), Blue (BDH).

Add-ons should come in these colors:

    White on Black
    White on Gray
    White on Red
    White on Green
    White on Blue
    Black on White
    Gray on White
    Red on White
    Green on White
    Blue on White

Not entirely sure how to go about converting the PNG's into SVG files.  I tried a couple things I found online but they didn't seem to work.  If anyone can help with that or point me in the right direction I would be most appreciative.

So if I understant well if I order a RETRO/STD87/WHITE/BLACK I would get a set of 87 keys RETRO style (1980-style off-center, top-left, text in Camel Case) with WHITE letters on BLACK keycap, and RETRO/ES/WHITE/BLACK would be the same style keys but only the 23 spanish keys right?

If so, why the white on black option is not in the RETRO style description of the wiki? it says "RETRO/RGB/BLACK Red/Green/Blue on Black". If there is the option, I would recommend to put it in the wiki as it seems to be a quite popular demand ;)

According to the wiki, the APPLE kit now includes a blank, supposedly for replacing the Menu keycap. I'd suggest to label this key as "FN" instead. All Apple keyboards have an FN key by now, and Menu can be easily remapped to FN with KeyRemap4MacBook.
