I think the smart move is to go with purple and mint. Purple, because many people have requested pink or purple.

Mint, because it is relatively uncommon and beautiful in this case.

I also like Charcoal. Would go with many, many keysets.

Split spacebar support is clearly mentioned as a Key Feature. Go read first post.

The question is about backspace, not spacebar. Supporting it on the PCB allow owners to opt into having a UNIX (or HHKB if you wish) layout with two 1U keys instead of one 2U backspace. Backspace itself is traditionally relocated to the row below (row above ANSI enter key). It's a great layout if you need constant access to various meta characters.

Sun keyboard with 2U backspace dropped in favour of two keys for meta characters:

I just noticed that the plate does not support split backspace. Without there being explicit mention about different plate options, I guess the answer to split backspace support is "no".

Since this is an IC though, I'd like to ask if it's a possible option. I'm too new to this to know if it's possible to do a universal plate that supports both options. It should be possible to support the option of split backspace with one PCB though.

EDIT: I guess, worst case, open sourcing the plate file, and supporting split backspace on the PCB would allow owners to make their own plates with split backspace support.

Kind of wish the bluetooth PCB support VIA.
