I greatly appreciate everyone's interest, and feedback/help throughout this process. I apologize if some of your desired changes didn't make it into the kit, I had to balance a lot of factors.
Timeline -
GB opens April 22nd
GB closes May 20th
Within a week of close order will be placed with GMK
3-4 months after payment until order is shipped to dixiemech
Dixiemech will then ship it out to NA orders inhumanly quickly

Just to be clear.. for a person ordering a single Base set from Dixiemech to a US address the shipping cost seems to show it is $1.50 and 'STICKER ONLY SHIPPING (Envelope)', for a total of $161.50

You'll be able to fill out either of those boards with just a base kit. If you plan on using both boards a lot and really like the caps, you might want to grab two base kits so you don't have to transfer the caps back and forth.

Except the MOQ is shared between dixi and all the proxys, if those combined are 150 (or close to in most cases as GMK is pretty generous as far as I can tell) it will be made.

Yes, but R1/2 use the same colors for the alphas. So these would be the correct colors for those as well.

Edit: actually if the involved parties would be ok with this i would take this in my hands, would ask gmk for quotes for different moqs (if possible something like 50/100/150) and post quick interest checks here and on reddit. From there on we could see how to proceed further.
I guess it would be easier if voxicle or dixi could offer this as they have an open channel to GMK anyways and also have proxys at the ready. But whatever happens I need a purple iso enter
I'll see what I can do. Would only be like 8 keys to make everyone happy, not sure how much that'll cost, but we can probably give it a whirl and see if we can hit MOQ on a tiny accent kit.

Not 100% sure about the colors but wouldn't this also fit hyperfuse as an accentkit? Would certainly benefit reaching MOQ i guess xD
Yes, but R1/2 use the same colors for the alphas. So these would be the correct colors for those as well.

Is the purple in the mods the same as in the alphas? The purple in the mods seems so much more grey than the rest of the purples

In some renders there is, in others there isn't. Perhaps some of us, including me, looked to much to the pretty renders on boards instead of the one provided by GMK.

The picture you took, reflects very well what it looks like in person. It's not very crisp from far away, but the legends are quite visible while using the keyboard (to me, with my glasses on). And again, that's not too far from what I was going for. The original IC had custom colors, and I was called an idiot many times over for not just using stock GMK colors because "it'd never hit 250 moq", and they were right(ish). After a few months of debate, that's what I decided on, and I still stand by it. I designed this set for myself for fun originally, and it just so happened that a bunch of people liked it. I'm still very happy with the result, and eternally grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. My giant 6'4, 230lbs cried a lil bit when we hit MOQ. I love you all.

So I just recieved my set, I have to admit, I was expecting a purple hydro and what I'm looking at right now, I dont know what tf this is.... Do you think there were misleading renders as I must say they are very close to the actual product. I understand that you are disappointed, but I do not see a fault in how Voxicles handled the GB. Keep in mind that only stock colors were used to keep the MOQ low. Now just look at N5 (Hydro Blue) and DY (Violet Tendencies purple) and of course there will be lower contrast between the DY and the N9 gray. What solution would you have proposed? Only option would have been a different gray (CC or 2B?). First I believe we would see far more outcry right now and second then the contrast between alphas and mods would have been reduced as a trade-off.
As I said, I do understand that you are disappointed, but I see no solution that would have been feasible. Yes the mod legends are quite dark, but that HAD to be expected. Some people like that and some don't, but unlike other GB this outcome was clear. No changes were made between proposing the set and actual manufacturing. The set is like it was promised imo.

Alpha's bright color underexposes Modi, so photos with typical exposure are not good representation.
There seems to be a lot of disappointments, but not sure where they come from. Renders and actuals are pretty consistent.
Looking at the bright side (not the Alphas ;D), this set is very useful as parts. Alphas are same color as Hyperfuse. Modis can be useful in a dark combination.
Make the best out of what we got which isn't too shabby. :cool:

GMK never really does samples for non custom color buys because they are standard.
I don’t get how it’s unusable. Do you actually look at the keyboard when you type?
Maybe when I run black lotus I will pitch GMK running a small batch of replacement mods in n9 with whatever custom lavender we end up with. Maybe they would let me do a lower moq. I’ll definitely ask about it tho since the lighter purple should be ideal and n9 is stock and GMK seems to like good Will :P

Point of the picture, as has been stated on this forum probably a million times by now but when the issue is low contrast mods like this look more illegible in low light, and more legible in bright light.

Since I have the set on a YAS keyboard with triple 1u bottom row (control-win-alt) I can't just pick up every other Dolch set but I need the bigger ones.Anybody here that bought this and also has GMK Dolch? I wanna know how the set looks with Dolch mods instead of just buying Dolch for nothing :PHere you go, sry for bad lighting and potato cam and laziness to swap them all but I think you get the gist. IMHO it looks pretty good and way more understated than the lazer mods I currently have equipped.

Like I said previously, this was my first (and possibly last) interaction with GMK and the community at large. If I go ahead with the Violet Outburst mod kit, I'll do my best to make it as cheap as possible, most likely at a loss, for those who purchased VT. Yeah, I'd just try and buy back those kits from those who feel they were cheated. It'll take me some time, as I'm not rolling in money, but I'll figure something out.
My ideal solution would be for Violet Outburst to become reality with good coverage for the purple on dark grey keys... I'll run an interest check for Violet Outburst here pretty soon. I need to get more renders made, and they're not cheap, as well as work on the coverage, and see about a vendor. Ideally I'd just do the same mods as VT, but that is a lot of keys, and might not be all that cheap. 150 kits is a lot of kits to sell, even more so now.

That could be fun... I'll throw both options on the IC. I've already got a nice render for the GR1 on DY that most of you have seen, so I'll have another made with DY on GR1 and see what people think. Both versions would work well with other sets as well.

It was completely clear that this set was using stock colors. Should they have followed the interest check or looked at the color codes in the renders, it would've been apparent. There's plenty of sets with N9 and DY colors to prove that the contrast in the keys would look the way they do.

my problem is the people saying this set is what we expected as gb buyers. cause we didnt expect this, these alphas are amazing, the render shows they might be dark but the renders are still really off
i guess thats my fault for trusting renders and i understand that
i still think this set is pretty decent for even for the mods being unreadable

The mods are DY purple with L9 white legends, so it's a different shade of white from the GR1 used in Violet Tendencies' alphas. If you're interested, they also posted a coupon for 15% off over in this reddit thread:

Ended up picking up one of the b-stock mats and wanted to report that I'm happy with it. Mine had 2 white spots about the size of a pen head. I think it was worth $10 off since mats are bound to get spots on them eventually anyway.
