I just put together my TADA68 today. Unfortunately, the UV LEDs that I ordered are really, really dim. I made sure that my screw-in stabs were not shorting anything out and all seems to be fine.
Does anyone have any input as to where I can get some purple LEDs that would be brighter? These are what I already have:

Thanks as always.

did you try adjusting the intensity of the LED"s? I think its FN-B by default. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0267/1905/files/TATA68-Manual-1.pdf

Perfect timing to post this. I was looking for purple leds recently and ended up ordering these ones off ebay. I believe they showed up while I was away last this week. So when I collect my mail from my neighbor I'll take some pictures and let you know what I think of them.

Hmm... Thanks for the tip. I might have to go down that road.
Either way, the 2x3x4's should be brighter than the 1.8mm

I am not sure if these are any better then what you got. Please excuse the POS keycap's. They are some Ducky Caps I harvested off a another board. I honestly hadn't found any nice purple caps wanted to use on this board yet. The LED's in question are Violet and came from https://flashquark.com/product/switch-leds/
I am not sure if these are the right shade of purple are even what your looking for but I figured I throw it out there in case it would help. https://imgur.com/a/iKIHxlH

Yeah thanks for pointing that out! They look a little more pink than I'd like. I see now that I'm not the only person that has had a hard time finding any good purple LEDs so at least I have that going for me. Maybe i'll try a shade of yellow instead...but I have bamboo case on the way and I don't think that would look very good at all :'(

Finally got around to taking pictures of the ebay purple/uv leds that I got. A bit disappointed.

Hey syris226, did you ever find decent purple leds? I'm still looking for some decent ones.
-
The issue is, 'uv' LED's aren't purple. The purple you want is a mix of red and blue, while 'uv' is extreme blue. They will all look pale blue/lavender instead of the color you want, so you want to make sure it is actually 'purple' and not 'uv'. The ones that say 'purple/uv' absolutely confuses me as they are different things.

Oh, I know. I'm just really struggling to find purple and not uv.
Just found these (https://www.ebay.com/itm/3mm-7-Colors-Round-Top-Emitting-Diode-Diffused-Water-Clear-LED-light-Kit-BS1/262327142873), might give them a shot. Since they're so cheap.
I'd even be alright with finding diffused leds as long as they're actually purple.

For a build I did a few years ago, I took hot pink LED's and dipped them in blue ink(for a fountain pin). They were an amazing purple color afterwards. Worth a shot if nothing else works out.

Another solution would be to use RGB LED's. You could still get purple out of two leads. Cut off the green lead. Bridge the red to the blue with a resistor. Connect the blue and ground to the board. The resistor value would need to be tweaked to get just enough red in with the blue.

Interesting idea. Do you have a picture of how they came out?

Hey I actually wound up going with some flor. yellow ones from flashquirk (https://flashquark.com/product/switch-leds/). They look really good and FQ was a great seller. They messed up the theme of the board - but that's MY fault! :-X
I think the purples from there might look great if you want to try them. The yellows I got were spot-on from the picture. Nice and bright.

Thanks man. Just ordered violet, purple, and cyan. There are so many storefronts these days I completely forgot about flashquark!
