I'm loving the concept, and I am always down for text mods!
I know some SA kits will have spelled out text arrow keys (up, down, left, right):
(Attachment Link)
(Oh god! Please excuse the key positions!)
I don't actually recall seeing any gmk sets with these however, but would be interested in seeing what you come up with and how they turns out.
will that be a custom palette?
or it's alphas = dolchs mods / mods = dolch alphas
Looks nice! Reminds me of an inverted, slightly less warm dolch.
I would be really grateful for a VIM kit (hjkl arrows + escape + control (r3)) with the lighter grey :thumb:
This is simple and amazing
EDIT: I am not a fan of the black legends on the light grey
...Possibly with text arrows if the moulds exist...

IIrc Camping had text arrows, so the molds should exist and I expect they'd look good here.

Text arrows should exist, as they were used in GMK Space Cadet. Not sure if you would need permission to use them, however.

Space Cadet as well
I like this KeySet
looks stunning!
only thing it's missing is a 1.5u 'Code' or 'Meta' key, either would be fine by me
will that be a custom palette?
or it's alphas = dolchs mods / mods = dolch alphas
It's essentially this:Looks nice! Reminds me of an inverted, slightly less warm dolch.
Since I'll be using cooler grays, it'll be a custom palette.
Dope! a clean minimal set. ( finally ) Where would you consider running this set?
Good colour scheme, I hope you make an icon mods kit though

Had me until custom palette. Why not just use GMK colors? They have a good variety and makes it easier to mix & match colors & sets for those of us who like to do that sort of thing. :) lol
Plus, don't know for sure, but must be cheaper/easier to work with GMK if they don't have to mix up custom colors.
Good luck!
I like this a lot. I feel like the base kit could (imo should) be condensed though - the barred numpad 5, double 0, the 1u alt+ctrl and the 1.5u super keys will probably see little use.
Does a mold for stepped “Caps” exist already or would that be a new one? The only text-only sets I’m familiar with are Burgundy R2 and Oblivion, both of which use “Caps Lock” on two lines for the stepped key.
Looks good!+1 on this
Any thoughts on making F-row uniform color?
Looks quite interesting! Grays are always nice, but sometimes I wonder if my life needs more color when I have too many gray things. :D Full-text mods are unique, but always a bit unbalanced, in my opinion. Oh well, if that's your choice, it's your choice. Anyways, I've got some questions.
Do you have any colors picked out?
If so, what are they?
Are there any custom colors? I think the community gets weary at the mention of custom colors without any quantifiable backing after a certain fiasco.
Any reason you chose two different enters in the base kit? This reflects upon the final base kit price significantly, y'know.
Do you think it's worth it to include the EU/UK options right in the base kit? Usually, the 5-10 purchases that it drives, in my opinion, is not worth including it in the base kit due to how many keys are put in and how that increases the price.
The stepped caps lock key without "lock" really looks a bit strange to me. What led you to that design decision?
Cheers!

Looks really good! Personally I would love a 1u "Code" or "Meta" key.

Been playing around with some rendering and 3D, I'll work on getting more done eventually, but here's one to start off!Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/MSaM2er.jpg)
I three
I think that it is too similar to the already run and run again white on black. In the last year there have been at least 5 iterations: geekhack, massdrop, uniqey, originative.I highly disagree that this is anything like wob, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise. Feel free to post some pictures and point out the similaries (other than there being some sort of shade of white or black color).
I think that everybody already owns it.
Otherwise, if you make some lighter alphas, like gmk 2B alphas with with white font, it would be really intersting, and it would be easy to combine it with existings sets, since there are a lot of sets which have white fonts.

I think if you want 2B alphas, and are aiming for that sort of alpha to modifier contrast then you may be interested in something like epbt slate (currently in GB) or gmk modern dolch (GB over but might be able to snag extras.
I truly believe this to be a unique design when it comes to gmk at least, and I hope the OP continues with its development.

Even the first gmk uniqey set is currently available with similar dark grey alphas

Totally disagree. That's like saying GMK monochrome was pointless because WoB had black mods and some other gmk set had white alphas already. I'm glad we're on the same page regarding this. For whatever reason I thought I was alone in the belief that this is anything like any other set ran in the past.Totally disagree. This set is a lot different than any of those, including epbt slate and especially boring stadard WoB that looks like any Dell keyboard IMO. It's the dark gray alphas with moderately dark gray accents in the reverse of the normal light/dark alpha combo that make this different. And it has to be that way for the dulled achromatic look. Missing the point of the set.
The subtle difference is important. Keep on with the original intent of the set, it's why people are interested in it.
Modern dolch is way darker than 2B! I think that to make this set more orginal and probably more liked, you need to choose between two alternatives:
- 2B alphas with white font
- grey alphas (darker than 2B), with grey font
If you choose a white font and dark grey color for the alphas, then it's just another modern dolch or WOB. Nothing original.
On top of that, the darker the color of the alphas, the shinier they get.
I like this a lot. I feel like the base kit could (imo should) be condensed though - the barred numpad 5, double 0, the 1u alt+ctrl and the 1.5u super keys will probably see little use.

Font will be a shade of gray, hence the theme of the set: all gray.

where has this IC been hiding? Probably the first dark set i've actually liked.
I like it a lot! Is this still happening? :DI hope so.
Hi! Will the profile be DCS, since you mentioned running it with signature plastics?
The darker shades of grey the set was originally going for looked better imo.
I feel like the current colors for the modifiers and legends could be done with standard GMK colors, leaving only the alphas being unique.
What made you go for lighter shades of grey?

Yeah a little darker would be better, really hope it gets made.

Small Update- Updated OPWould it be possible to reinstate the ISO UK keys back into the base kit?
- Added Mod colored Pipe n' slash and stepped control
- Lightened alphas to a darker gray and matched legends to the light gray accent (still debating on whether or not I like this- as there is less contrast now, but it definitely fits the theme more)
- Added text arrows to base kitShow Image(https://i.imgur.com/hr5SKsu.jpg)

I've been keeping an eye on this kit, and was extremely pleased that you were catering for ISO UK users when many other gmk IC/GBs were dropping support.
Cheers!
Forgive my eyes, but I'm unable to locate the 3 keys that are shown above the ISO enter keys (in the quoted picture) within the new renders.Small Update- Updated OPWould it be possible to reinstate the ISO UK keys back into the base kit?

It'd be nice to see this up against some of the other grey sets when you upload high-end renders. Sets like GMK Nines, GMK Oblivion, GMK Modern Dolch for instance. Just for comparison sake.
This is your IC and so is obviously your call - but I'd love to know the reason why a partial ISO UK offering is made? Why drop full support for the sake of a few keys.Forgive my eyes, but I'm unable to locate the 3 keys that are shown above the ISO enter keys (in the quoted picture) within the new renders.Small Update- Updated OPWould it be possible to reinstate the ISO UK keys back into the base kit?

Oof, totally blew over my head. Will try to!! I'm still looking through RAL codes and Signature plastic chips to 100% hit the grays I want, then I'll move on from there

As mentioned in my first message, I have been looking forward to this IC becoming reality from the get go. Removing keys that are part of the layout makes this an impossibility for me - and that's a real disappointment.

I agree 100% with you. But seems to be the latest tendency. So I will have to skip this one too.
I would love to know what other iso users do, i just skip any set that does not cover a full uk iso layout. I am ok paying extra for the nordeuk kit to have it.

I might be making a poll with the options i originally had (darker mods). I’ll be posting it once I get some renders! Based on the poll, I’ll be moving forward with the colors chosen :)
