I might be able to get ahold of a few hundred (300-500)Monterey blue switches and was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying some.
-
im definitely interested :thumb:
-
I’d be interested in enough for a TKL (90-100) depending on the condition and price naturally
-
Same as above -- dependent on condition and price!

They are SMK Alps Clicky switches. https://deskthority.net/wiki/SMK_Alps_mount

They're a clicky alps clone made by smk, somewhere in between white alps and blue alps in terms of "feel", however they are far less sensitive to dirt, and are a bit more high pitched in sound. It's Chyrosran22s fifth best clicky switch of all time.

Here is a form for those interested (no obligations yet, just want a bit more information), I'd be shipping from the EU.

I would be interested in enough for a TKL as well

Ok guys I have some semi-bad news, the keyboards I would've gotten have been driven up a bit in price and there is still some time until the bidding ends, so I might only be able to get a hold of 240 odd switches to sell (I'll be keeping enough for a 60%, and I won't be able to sell them as cheaply to you guys as I would've hoped, if Im very unlucky with the bidding it might go slightly above a euro switch, and that's selling them at cost, not accounting for desoldering, and packaging (which I'm willing to do, because I've had other community members sell me things at cost as well), now hopefully I'll be able to keep it at around 1 euro, but if the bidding goes above the hundred euro mark I'm not gonna buy.
-
Good news, I was able to get all of the available keyboards, they'll be shipped to me in the next few days.
-
Yes! I'd love ~70 :D
Edit:
Ah... probably should have read the thread in its entirety. :X

I'll be sending out the time and date for when the sale happens some time in advance (through pm and here on the IC) and then I'll send a link as soon as it starts as well, It'll be first come first serve, I will try and keep everyones timezones into consideration (I'm presuming everyone is either in Europe or the US, if not post your timezone.)
-
I'm receiving the keyboards tomorrow or Monday, I'll upload some photos, videos, and sound tests to show their condition.
-
received the keyboards, I'm quite busy at the moment so I won't be uploading any videos or sound recordings until earliest Wednesday, latest Thursday. I did try them out however and they all sound and feel fantastic. two of the boards were rather clean with minimal (if any) yellowing, while the third was a bit yellowed. I prefer the key feel to my orange alps. GB happening very soontm.
-
Recently got into alps and loving them would def want to get my hands on some of these switches.
-
I have a quite bad cold (so I was home) I had time to make some videos, am uploading them rn, will post as soon as they've finished uploading.

Is there a PCB design out there that supports these guys?

Yup

Also for plates in case you guys are interested in hand wiring, most cherry mx type plates will work so there's a wide selection

Hello once again, sorry for the long time between updates. Ive been preoccupied with real life, either way, I've desoldered one board already, will do the two others in the next two days. I will then host the buy hopefully on saturday, if my paypal issues have been resolved by then, otherwise I'll do it the saturday after.
-
Appreciate the update. Never got to try switches like these so very curious :) Good luck with the desoldering. It's something I still need to learn.
-
Awesome! Looking forward to some monterys!
-
paypal has finally fixed the issue, and I can now connect my bank account to it, GB happening this saturday. (sorry for the delays, I had call paypal multiple times before they fixed the issue, admittedly I did screw up the first time.) Also alongside the switches I will sell two full sets of alps style stabs, and a third one with a space bar stab that is damaged, and two sets of alps mount keycaps.
-
Hell yeah. I am down for sure.
-
What kinds of keysets were on these boards? (Pad-print, dye-sub, doubleshot?)
-
is today the Saturday?
-
Ok guys so as some of you may have noticed this is my first stint doing this type of thing so its not going as smoothly as I would've hoped. Even though I finally got paypal to accept my account, to activate said account I need to retrieve a code which is in my bank transactions, I've always gotten these as paper copies, but for some reason the bank has switched me over to eBanking, so that I can only see my transactions electronically. I sadly however do not have an online account, so I can't access my transfers at all. I have a holiday next week, I will visit the bank during that time. which should finally resolve the issue with being able to do the sale. thank you for your patience everyone :)
-
Oh, and in case you haven't yet, or missed it please fill out the IC form:

Pad printed, unfortunately, the price will of course reflect that

everything is now fixed, GB happening 30/02/19 (02/30/19 for the americans), so this saturday. I've fixed everything and the paypal account is now linked to my bank account.

would you happen to have an exact price per switch?
-
would you happen to have an exact price per switch?
prices
1.20€ per switch (at cost + a bit for the materials I used in desoldering) x299
15 € for a full set of stabilizers x2
7 € for a full set of stabilizers, with a damaged space bar stab x1 (I am willing to split this if there are a few ortho users with 2U spacebars)
10 € 101 pad-printed keycaps x1
free 101 pad printed key caps, with a damaged ]} key (for whoever orders the most switches)

I'll handle the paypal fee, shipping is not included and varies depending on region:
5 euros flat in germany
10 euros flat in EU
15 euros for North America (It actually costs more, and is a lot more work to not get it stuck in customs, but as long as you order enough switches for a 60% I will subsidies it a bit to keep the extra cost of shipping a bit lower)
-
I'd like a few for my switch tester. ;)

Can be arranged :) if you want a pm before the sale starts (tomorrow) just fill out the Google docs form

The GB is currently awaiting approval from the moderators, stay tuned, will post link to the GB thread once the moderators are happy with it.

Is there any benefit to the Alps mount SMK switches versus the MX variant?
-

Less keycap wobble (due to the mount design) , other than that I'm not sure
-
The GB is still in approval (likely because I technically already have the switches in my possession), Ive already sent the link to everyone who filled out the form, if you want access to the GB form pm me, and I will send you the link
-
GB is a go: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=99662
most of the switches have been sold, there are enough left for a 60%, and a few switch testers, so if you're interested don't wait too long.
