Something with Alps Buckling Springs (Teradrive, others)
« on: Tue, 10 May 2011, 15:54:54 »
The topic says it all, really.

The Sega Teradrive keyboard, Sega P/N HTR-2106, is known to use these switches, and there's an unknown C.Itoh board that also uses them.

The C.Itoh board that has been photographed is in ISO layout, and the Teradrive is in JIS layout. They're the same basic keyboard, and there may also be an ANSI layout. I don't really care what layout, although ANSI would be great if it exists.

As for interface, the Teradrive keyboard is ordinary PS/2, whereas the C.Itoh board is allegedly RJ-11, although I don't know anything about the electrical interface. PS/2 would obviously be nicer, but I'm mainly interested in feeling what Alps BS is like, and I don't even need it to work, for that.

I'm in Newark, OH 43055.

Edit: http://park16.wakwak.com/~ex4/kb/main_sega_teradrive.htm has photos of the Teradrive board. The C.Itoh board is a white version.
