It starts in Jan. 2018

case n keyblock 3 or 4 colors
Switch plate 3 colors and PC

Will there be stainless steel as a plate option too?

it says in the first post, STS is stainless steel

Will there be a top part with the WKL blockers already on?
Also is there an option for no anodizing?

top part with 2 type, Normal and HHKB style,
anodizing option around 4, black, silver, red and no anodizing.

Aw, okay. I'm still looking for a nice WKL 60%.

Right there with you. This case is gorgeous, but I am not sure if I can justify the cost for non-attached WKL blockers. Considering HHKB just cause it looks so damn good

Red is nice, i'd definitely consider it, but we need someone to make a nice navy blue 60% already :P. Nautilus with some navy and some brass would look CLEAN.

If I get one, 100% chance I will TRY to use a Zeal60. The new ones with the black edge and gold ports look sooooooo nice. Plus RGB and QMK. I think with the gold port it's gonna look the best. But I also get that not everyone wants $120 pcbs :P.

I won't lie, I was tempted to pick up a gon PCB, but I can't do my layout without QMK, and $70 is a lot if I'm just gonna nuke the boot loader. Plus if I wanted LEDs I'd have to figure out how to smd. They do look nice. I just use a few multiuse keys that I can't really reproduce in other firmware.

You could try a b.face.  I haven't personally tried one yet, but I really like my B.87 by winkeyless and I assume it would be the same quality.  It uses bootmapper client, and it's pretty darn easy to set up multi-function keys.

You can do just about anything with bootmapper client

I vote for NerD 60 for better quality. I know QMK do have particular function the other not, I would pick a ordinary GH60 rev.c if one day I find that I need QMK much.

I should be more clear. I have multifunction COMBO keys.

I setup 2 FN keys, either 1 can access a layer, but if I use both, I get a totally different layer. There are ways to KINDA do this just be having FN keys to other layers in your fn layers, but it never works quite right.

For me I setup 3 layers, the base layer, 1 layer that is accessible using EITHER fn key, and a 3rd layer than is accessed using both. There is no way I'm aware of to do this with any other firmware. So if a board can't use QMK I probably won't use it.

Just curious, why set up like this?

BTW, I used to use multirole key (single and combo doing different actions).  Had to give up as it limited keyboard choices.
On keyboards with certain layouts, I have FN key set up to cycle through layers.  Just FYI.

Idk if this is the right place to talk about this, but I saw some intriguing renders by LZ on kbdlab. Are we possibly getting a new design or is it simply a render? I’m hoping it’s the former  :thumb:

Edit: @LZ, when do you think we will have this GB open and how long do you intend to leave it open?

I would like the GB end date to be a bit after mid February but I can only hope...

I vote for NerD 60 for better quality. I know QMK do have particular function the other not, I would pick a ordinary GH60 rev.c if one day I find that I need QMK much.

How does NerD60 compare to GH60 and Zeal60?

Hey LZ, how tall will the case measure in the front? Hopefully something like 20mm?
