Please refer to the kits section to view our latest changes. Thanks!

I dig the theme. Maybe call it "DSA Scientific"?
F Keys belong on the left.

Now what if you combine the white alphas from TI-30XIIS with the rest of TI-30Xa?

I like it. It's unique without being too zany.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

Hey my guy, I just ran an IC for another DSA calculator set! (Based off my Casio graphing calculator)

I'd be cool if you wanted the KLE layout and renders but you should check it out!
TBH I think yours is way cooler than mine

Indeed, I think there's a way to make a TI-83 set by adding a child kit to one of these two sets. Looking into it.

Just throwing these ideas out there before delving into child kits and novelties for the original sets above.

Personally, I think the orange set has potential. The others are nice but nothing special.

I, too am really excited for all this could be. but careful having too many options, it could end up like a 7bit round.

So pumped tho.

I think the "colored" versions don't really convey the calculator idea as much as the first two. Orange does have some potential though.

How about some custom modifier legends and novelties?

I had some for DSA Calc but never got around to posting them.

^Feelin' it.

@baxxt14, The next step is to really nail down the colours.

The Signature Plastics default ABS colours are just too far off. PBT colours are closer but still don't cut it.

I'm trying to get in touch with them for a colour match.

The next step is to really nail down the colours.

keyboard-layout-editor.com has the SP, GMK and WASD colours built-in. Look at the top, there's a menu item called "Color Swatches".

That's what I've been using. Very useful but, unfortunately, these don't come close to the real thing.

I'm going through Pantone's library and considering sending a physical sample.

Here are the colours for now:

Greys are GB and GTG, respectively, yellow is YCE (SP ABS). Teal and purple are lighter versions of BED and BFR, which will have to be colour-matched.

Here are the colours for now:

Note that this is for a TI-30XA set (teal modifiers) with optional purple modifiers. (ie. "TI-83" set)

<Photo removed>

The TI-30XIIS set in the OP (bottom photo) is perhaps less interesting because, except for the purple modifiers, the colorway is essentially black and white.

Just an update:

Sample keycaps in all colours are ordered and will soon be on their way. I have been working on graphics for novelties, narrowing down kits and also doing more keyboard models.

Here is a Leopold FC980M, which I think represents the theme quite nicely here:

I know what you mean, but DSA does suit a calculator more. And because DSA doesn’t have a different profile for each row it makes it easier to apply them to non-standard keyboard layouts. But I agree, SA does look better.

Loving these novelties, making the set pop so much. Bringing back bittersweet memories of crunching numbers in high school / undergrad. The "2nd" key in TI-30XIIS colors would be so perfect.

They look great - but I did notice that there are no indexing bumps on the F & J keys in the models.  Personally, I would REALLY like to see those.

As a touch typist I can't really do without them.  Years ago I did have one Smith Corona keyboard with Acer Switches that used "scooped" F & J keys instead and it drove me crazy.  Thankfully I had junk Logitech board with Alps mount keys that I just stoke the F & J off of for that board.
Boards: Unicomp Spacesaver (Buckling Spring) - IBM Model M (Buckling Spring) - Scorpius iOne M10 (Cherry MX Blue) - Logitech K840 (Romer-G) - E-3lue Cobra (replaced with NovelKeys Box Jades) - Smith Corona 6311 (Acer switches) - Matias Tactile Pro PC (Matias Click Switches) - Apple Desktop Bus Keyboard (Alps SKCM Orange)

I was not aware that SP made bump DSA caps, apparently they do. I will inquire into whether they make them in doubleshot as well.

I personally prefer bars/bumps over deep dish. I guess most SA/DSA sets include deep dish keys because they are more faithful to vintage spherical caps.

Deep dish seems fine in SA profile, however the DSA deep dish is a bit awkward:

If available, and unless there is strong opposition, bumps are an interesting option.

SP does indeed make the bump/dot/bead for DSA in doubleshot (see DSA LightCycle), and I have to say they feel terrible because the dot is right in the middle of the cap instead of a bar at the bottom like OEM style caps, so it's like being constantly poked on the fingertip. Scooped feels much nicer IMO; although, I admit it's not quite as helpful/quick in determining it's the home row/key.

If SP can do bars at the bottom instead of the dot/bead thing in the dead center of the cap, that would be preferable, but I'm not sure that's an option on spherical caps.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

SP also does the bars like GMK does them, take a look at PrimeKB's DSA Honeywell for example.

Good news. Samples are in! (although yellow did not make it)

Notes:

- Pantones (deep teal & slate blue) are looking good.
- White will be substituted for a less white white.
- Yellow still to be confirmed.
- Greys may be tweaked.

Lastly, note that the colours are not intended to match the calculators perfectly, although quite close. They were picked to allow for mixing and matching between the two sets and to limit the number custom colours, which impacts the final cost per set.

I apologize for the low quality pictures but I wanted to share them immediately. Taken with a Galaxy phone in daylight:

Deep teal

Slate blue

The green and the blue are amazing colors.  I would honestly like to see more of them in the set, but I'm not sure how you would do that.  I'd buy an entire green set :)
