I have to say the polycarbonate bottom ruins it for me. Looks cheap.
Maybe for the brass version, we get a brass bottom?

Update :

Kit options will be :
1. Case kit only
2. Case + PCB kit
3. Case + PCB + laser engraved white/black keycap kit for default layout
*optional 1 : 70 pcs Kailh Box / Cherry switches include
*optional 2 : cherry PCB stabilizer/plate stabilizer(default layout only)

From IC form,
We will go ahead with following colors:
1. PVD Brass (With limited quantity only)
2. Anodized Black
3. Anodized Gray
4. Anodized purple
5. Anodized rose gold
*6. Powdercoated white (Never tried, we have to make some sample see if the surface is strong enough)

And we'll provide layouts (All mount plate is PVD brass)
1. ANSI universal
2. Our default layout
3. HHKB
4. Split space bar fit most PCBs
5. ISO universal
*6. universal for ANSI/ISO (Only make it under Moq reached)

Sample looks great, I'm in for one ;D

I hope Aluminium Silver is a colour option as seen in the renders, it's not on the list above?

Agree that the acrylic or poly bottom would look cheap. I am in for brass bottom or anything tougher  :thumb:

Am I the only one that doesn't like the way the weight just screws into the acrylic bottom? It looks and seems like it may feel cheap.

That's a part that you never touch or even see during regular operation of the keyboard. How is it gonna feel cheap?

How else do you propose the weight be attached if not with screws? Double-sided tape?

I guess as long as the acrylic is thick it should feel sturdy enough.

I worry about how well the screw threads in the plastic will hold up from repeated disassembly and assembly through the years.
It will be the first thing to go imo.

even without the extra weight plate, it should be pretty sturdy already isn't? brass plate and all.

The plastic part is not threaded. What's threaded is the brass plate. The plastic bottom merely has holes drilled into it for the screws to go through...

This is correct. The threading will always be in the metal, not the plastic. The oversized holes will have countersunk screws to make sure they align correctly except for the brass name plate that relies on 6 screws and the recess for alignment.

There won't have threads in the PC plate.
It has to be a through hole.
Or not able to put the parts together.
And I've tried to make the screw very tight.
and will try it several times more, check if it will crack.

But then you would be forfeiting the cool underglow! Are you looking to build it with something like a Zeal60 instead?

Very nice case and design :)

However, I wish there was an option for a full brass/alu bottom.

For those who do not want/need the underglow.

This may be possible but how much would you be willing to pay for something like this? My understanding is that relative cost to machine this would be a bit higher than usual due to the lower quantities.

Sure is. From what I've heard, they are waiting for the next prototype and will do a full build with it to ensure that everything is good.

The design of this case is almost perfect for me.
The bottom of polycarbonate is nice as it looks like an apparel accessory as long as the rendering image is, but I agree the actual appearance will look quite cheap.
I hope that this GB will happen soon.I can't wait!

Threaded holes in the brass plate, through-holes in the polycarbonate bottom, and countersunk screws (or pan/caphead screws) most likely!

When is the expected start date and shipping date?
Also, at this moment, can you tell me the plate option that reached MOQ?

The white is made painting now.
But we found another way to make white anodize.
We'll ask for color sample for that.

The other sample is gray one!

Any timeframe for this?

Will the DO60 GB expire before this or will this kit include a DO60?

Are there any photos of the board with keycaps installed so we can see how inset they are?

Any chance for HHKB tops? I would seriously love one in a Crimson Red. ;)

You will also have plates for 6.25u/7u spacebars, right?

I have asked the same question on reddit. The OP told me that GB for the kit would run sometime later than the PCB. PCBs are going to be restocked then, and everyone joined in PCB's GB now would get a discount in the kit GB.

If what are you wanting to know is whether there is a visible gap between the walls and the bottom of the keycap, then that's a no. It's a 'true' high profiled board.

It will start soon, but might after PCB gb ended.
Not sure if we can modify the sample before this week.

Will there be an option for ISO plate too? (or if not, Universal plate is an acceptable substitute in my view)

The PCB already has ISO support so hopefully this is not a big ask!

Great news! If it’s not too expensive I might have to buy one of each!

Any chance you could make a Crimson Red HHKB Top a color option? :(

Will you also have non-split spacebars plates too?

What surface finish will the brass version have? Will it be polished and ptoteched with a clear coat? Raw untreated brass will tarnish very quickly (and also kinda smells unpleasantly metallic)

Wait...do you mean a BRASS HHKB Case is possible? That is so cool if so!!

Could everything Brass be PVD Coated to avoid tarnishing? Clear coats don’t last too long apparently.

If you didn't crack it, PVD coating will stay pretty long.

This is just a bit shocking. You’re awesome. Full PVD coated brass HHKB keyboard case is gonna be amazing. I’m in.

No option for full PVD coated brass bottom, right?

Any confirmation on the colors for anode?
