What kind of alu will be used to make the case? Will there be any chance of it being 7075?

prolly 6061 or 6063 so he can meet the target price

I'll be going with 6061 since I don't want to take any major changes to what works. I could do a few 7075 as part test, part GB if a few want. :p

Sounds very interesting but if the price is higher as Puddsy said then I probably can't T_T

There are 3 versions planned, so probably shouldn't make it any more complex anyway :)) :))

Yeah, with 7075 the texture and finish of the alu is quite a bit better imo.

yes, getting hard ano in colors other than black is generally very expensive and difficult to do

doing type 3 ano tints the color VERY dark, so you can't really do a lot of things you can do with type 2

Yes, most hard anos are usually black or a dark color but it's sort of overkill for a keyboard anyways. I think it's worth it to just go type II and have a variety of colors, namely silver  ;D.

Really love the 7075's characteristic slight copper-colored tint visible in that test. It'd be cool to see more keyboards in fancier alloys like that if the extra cost isn't too excessive. Getting the anodizing colors you want might prove more difficult with the reduced aluminum content though, at least from what I've gathered reading finishing.com and various firearm forums.

I’m hoping for a purple 280/220 set, so if it’s 7075 then I’ll guess I’ll have to cross my fingers for a limited edition that can get cerakoted.

I wanted a tight ANSI but a few of my sets don't have stepped caps, so I would need a universal (am I right thinking the fixed ANSI is stepped only?)

Yeah it's currently stepped only, but I may make it fit both. Takes away the point though.

GB info since a lot of stuff is happening at the minute...

I still need to order the prototype, but I can't until I've decided what to do with the port placement. Should be deciding tomorrow, and have it ordered by the end of the week.

I can't run more than 2 GBs on GH so it'll be after 268 anyway. Will also show the sort of quality this will be (and judging by the parts from production I already have, it'll be 10/10).

Most likely will have a large GB window but with limit slots to hopefully fill them all. If they aren't filled, probably will get extras as the price I'm aiming for would be at the higher quantity :)

All four look really great, nice work! Especially this color... in case the GB is gonna happen, please offer a finish + color combination which makes it look like on the renders.  Would be dope :D

Getting all four of them would give one the perfect loadout... but I already know I won't be able to afford that, sadly.

:-* :-*

How tall is the 280 board on both sides? What's the keyboard in the middle? Looks interesting.

15mm front faces on all. Dunno about the back.

Keyboard in the middle is a 78 key, same layout as KMAC Mini. It's mainly a reference design as it's the same depth as a 60%, and same width as the TKL.

I'll say it straight away, no plans to run it yet :'(

I love the design language. A rectangle remains a rectangle. Reminds me of Dieter Rams and Corbusier.

GH only allows members to run 2 at a time, so that's going to make it a little easier. I'm good doing everything, it isn't too complex, just a lot of time.

Even if I had the money it'd be pretty difficult to get one.

Well nothing should be apart from the numbered ones :'(

Thanks for all the support guys. I'm ordering the prototype next week, so should have it by the end of next month. I hope!
