Title: INSANITY
Post by: tp4tissue on Tue, 02 April 2019, 10:47:37
So they release 10 episodes on 3 bluray discs

d1, 4 epi,  8gb/episode
d2, 3 epi, 11gb/episode
d3, 3 epi, 11gb/episode

That IS INSANE !!  Completely illogical.

All 3 discs are dual layer BD50, capacity of 50GB, NONE of the discs are filled. The capacity on the 3 discs only meter out to 39gb / 37gb / 39gb

At the very least, they could do ALL 11gb/ episode.

It's OK to have asymmetry given Constraints,  but there's clearly more room here.

Vikings ?

Physical bluray ?

Even worse,  was the Avatar bluray.

video file comes out to 38gb for a 3hr movie.

It's also Full 16:9,  which means,  it's gotta spread those bits across 2mpixel  vs  2.35:1 movies @ 1.6mpixel

Even then, 2hr 1.6mpixel movies are usually 38gb

The movie should go the distance and hit 45gb , why not ?

They delivered it in a 3 disc set with special features on 2nd/3rd disc.

Depending on the movie, you could do both.
